So after plucking up the courage to go for a consultation at the end of March, its not even the end of April and I’ve already had my reduction! Soo pleased at how fast everything went and they managed to fit me in in time for me to recover before my holidays in June! I went from a 34H to a 34DD and its only been 4 days and iv already never felt happier! Currently at the stage where my strapping is so irritating and I can’t wait to just get it off! Having my 1 week PO appointment on Wednesday so I will keep updating. Feel free to ask any questions as I know theres hardly any posts on reductions compared to enlargements and I was super inquisitive before my op!!! X
Strapping is really annoying, you’ll feel so much better when it’s removed!
I’m so glad to see another girl sharing their reduction stories, I feel like I’m the only one sometimes!
Hi Sophie! Ah how exciting!! I had mr marcellino as my surgeon! Up until the op everything went so smoothly and was really happy. However on the day my admission time was 1pm and I didn’t go down until 7pm! They do warn you and say you can be waiting up to 6 hours which I didn’t mind but the problem was by the time I came around mr marcellino has gone home and I never saw him again after that and was never reassured that the op went well etc but apart from that everything else was great, the nurses and other staff at the hospital are really friendly and helpful! can’t really think of any tips apart from to buy a V pillow which has helped me get comfortable during the first week, and also i spent about £75 on different post op bras and in the end they were either too small or unsuitable so ended up buying the MYA ones at the hospital anyway! Xx
Ah thanks Zoe Iv got blisters from it so thankful it’s coming off today! How much did your swelling go down and how long did it take if you don’t mind me asking xx
My swelling took about 3/4 weeks to go down and I stayed bruised for about 6/8 weeks. The recovery for reductions can be tough but it’s so worth it in the long run.
Had my 2 week post op appointment today and really happy with how they are looking!! Had my stitches out today which didn’t hurt at all and the pain has gone almost completely and can now start getting on with my life again ???? (Without pushing myself too much of course!) will try and attach a picture at this point although the picture isn’t great x
So it has been 3 weeks post op tomorrow. I’m starting to get back into routine with my life and going out more and feel so happy and comfortable in my clothes! Being just 19 I struggled with not being able to feel confident in clothes / underwear / bikinis due to having massive boobs but now I am and everyone around me has noticed. I am having weekly appointments and last week the nurse told me how happy she was with how they are looking and how they are healing. I have never felt happier and already I can say this op has been life changing… worth every penny and worth every bit of pain and uncomfort during the first week or so. For anyone waiting for their surgery, don’t be nervous, be excited!!!!! X
I’m so glad you’re happy with your results!
Hi Girls, can anyone help me with what to take to the hospital I have no idea what I will need and there is no mention of it in my pack other than what to wear. Also did you get told to stop taking contraception no one has mentioned this to me but I have read on other sites that you have to. Any info would be much appreciate thanks x
I had to stop taking my pill for 2 weeks, Rachel.
You’ll want to take button up pjs and a button up shirt to leave in. Dry shampoo. Basic essentials like toothpaste if you’re an overnight stay. May want a V pillow if you think it will help you sleep slightly upright.
Hello girls,
I have just had my breast reduction with Dr Traynor just over a week ago and It went amazing I thought the whole experience was so good never been happier!!
I have has my bandages changed and will be getting my stiches out on Wednesday, I was just wondering when I will be able to shower properly again and lift my hands above my head?
xxx
Hi Hannah I was able to shower after my 4 week appointment once all the incisions had closed and healed/scabbed over, but obviously this timing will be different for everyone! I’d say about 2 weeks PO the pain will ease completely and you will be able to start doing things like lifting your arms over your head (well, that was the case for me anyway). So glad your happy with your results!! Xxx
I am now 7 weeks post op and my new boobies are looking amazing! I still have a full bust (DD) but they are so perky and perfect I can’t believe how happy I am with them. Good luck Sophie! One thing I have to say is that after the operation, every single day is easier and less painful! Another thing, if you are in pain after the op even after you have been given painkillers, tell the nurses! I sat there in pain for hours thinking they couldn’t give me anything else but when I eventually told them they gave me something else which eased the pain much more. Good Luck!!! Xx
Hey Molly, thank you so much! Really reassuring! My administration time is 1pm also tomorrow hopefully I won’t be waiting too long but we will see! I will take that into consideration as I’m the short of person to not say anything! What was your original size before the op Molly? I’m a 36FF now, ideally like to go to a C or D at most Cup wise! Ah I’m so excited and so nervous! Just hope all goes well and recovery is smooth xxx
How did everything go Sophie?! Hope your pleased with your results! I was a large H maybe even slightly bigger and I’m a size 10/12 they just looked ridiculous on me! He told me I could go down to a D/DD which was perfect xxx
Hey girls please please can anybody offer advice and photos on reduction with Mr.Marcellino. Changing surgeon to him after not feeling right with first surgeon. Most of his work are pictures from enlargements. Please advice on initial consoltation, his manner, whether you discussed sizing options, did he show pictures of what you want or his work? Any advice appreciated xx
