So, I had my surgery yesterday, 26th Jan. My admission time was 9am. I was shown to my room by the nurse at around 9.20am. She took my blood pressure, asked me all the standard questions, and took a pregnancy test from my urine sample. Mr marcellino came in to draw on me at around 10.30 am. I’d had a second consultation with him a few days before and suggested I wanted a bigger size than he’d offerred, but he hadn’t been too sure. I’d suggested 450cc instead of 400, so we came to a compromise of 425cc on the day of my op. Am still happy about this size, as I think it will take me to the d/dd cup size that I want.
The anaesthetist then came in and introduced himself, and asked me a few questions. I was then taken upstairs to the op room by the nurses and I then met the anaesthetist, who instilled my canulla for the surgery meds. The nurse put an oxygen mask on me, while the meds kicked in, and I started to feel myself drift off. An hour later, I woke up in the recovery room with a huge set of new boobies and a heavy feeling on my chest. The nurse who was attending to me said the surgery went really well, and there weren’t any problems. He was really nice and caring and kept reassuring me and gave me some more morphine for my pain. It was probably the meds, but I kept telling him that he was such a nice man, hehe!!
I was then taken back to my room and my blood pressure was taken and drains were removed. I stayed in my room for another couple of hours until I was discharged. My 34dd shock absorber bras that I brought for after the op were too tight, so I returned home with just my strapping for support. Overall, my surgery experiene was good, but am still in a bit of pain(these damn co-codamols wear off so quickly), but hopefully, I should be fine soon.
I hope this helped anyone who is yet to go through their surgery. Will put some pics up once this pain and swelling subsides a little bit. Thanks girls. Let me know if you have any questions. xxx
Thanks for sharing! Hope you heal well. I’ve added you, hope that’s ok x
Aww congrats hunni! Can’t wait to see the pics!! Xxx
Glad it all went well lovely. And you got a bigger implant like you wanted. Happy healing xxx
+1 from me, thanks for the detail Sharks – it helps all us pre op girlies to prepare! xx
Thank you for sharing your story. It’s helped me a lot. Wanting a breast enlargements x
Hey, I had Dr Marcellino yesterday as well. I feel like I should have been more assertive with him becuase he swyaed me towards 375cc and they don’t look as big as I would’ve liked but hard to tell with strapping on and so forth so I’m going to give it a few weeks before I make up my mind on how I feel. And you’re so right about the guy in the recovery room – he was really nice. All the nurses were too. Wish you a speedy recovery xx
Thanks girls. Will continue to share my recovery story. @ Freya, yes, I was eventually able to get Marcellino to agree on at least 425. I’d made up my mind that I wasn’t gonna go through with it if he offerred less than 400cc. He came in to check on me again after the op and called me a difficult patient, haha. @ Caz, yes, Mr marcellino is very conservative with sizing, and one needs to be very assertive, and firmly stand their ground to get him to agree on a bigger size than he’s offering. Hopefully, your 375 should give you a decent d cup size, once the strapping is off and the swelling is gone. Everyone at Mya was really lovely and attentive. Five stars for the excellent patient care. Happy healing to you too Caz.
@ Trace, am glad I could be of help. I like to write alot, hehe!!
So nice to see a positive outcome here as well, getting a bit nervous of the care from MYA now my op is looming in the next couple of weeks! It’s nice to read it’s not all doom and gloom! so thankyou :):)
Which hospital was you at??
Xxx
I was at the Fitzroy clinic. I’ve just read Amy’s story and it’s completely awful how they have treated her. I hope yours goes well too, but if you start seeing signs that things might go wrong on the day, make a complaint early and demand that you be seen straight away, or you’ll be forced to cancel and go elsewhere. But hope everything runs smoothly. xxx
there’s absolutely no way, on gods earth am I cancelling! Lol nor rebooking when I’ve had to sort out Childcare, time off, hotels, transport and the rest! Nobody should be made to move an appointment on the day. If we cancelled we would have to forfeit our money so the same applies the other way around in my eyes. You cancel on the patient, you forfeit xx
Thanks for sharing, good to see you had a lovely experience, as i’m getting nervous, mine is on the 11th feb xx
I wish I had your experience mine has been terrible! Still no op! Xx
Am so sorry about this Amy. This is atrocious. Something seriously wrong has happened today, and I hope they get it sorted, or they’ll be losing customers. Make sure you tell them that in your complaint. Hope you will get seen tomorrow, first thing. They need to re-imburse you some money, or something for this kind of service. Hugs to you hun. Everything will be alright. xxx
