Ladies,
I went for removal and replacement revision last tuesday…I went from 260L, 300R overs which had started to ripple and sag, to 440 cc under the muscle teardrops. I knew the pain of unders would be much much worse. I have what I would consider a high pain tolerance but when I got home day 1, 2, 3 I was barely able to breathe. My nurse checked me on day 2 and said it was possibly just because the right breast (the sorer one) was the smaller one so more work done in the pocket. She sent me back home with tramadol and told me to keep a close eye. On day 3 I got bruising, normal yes but this was severe, covering my right breast and side and thick black under incisions. There was also an extreme feeling of pressure like it was going to pop. It was swollen MUCH larger than the left, maybe like over a cup size. At this point I was panicking and google kept pointing me in the direction of ‘hematomas’ …blood pools internally in breast. Kept in touch with my nurse on phone and surgeon rang me and told me to come in today – day 6 – to look at it. I fasted last night incase I had to go under and I was right, he thought it best to go in and drain.
He drained out a good bit of blood under general anaesthetic and I am just home..tender and sore but the girls are the same size now and it will just be a slower setback in my recovery and a waiting game.
Just thought I would post this as surgery always has risks and it is good to know about the real possibility. I never thought would happen to me. Nor should you worry about every tiny thing (hard, I know)
Just look after yourselves, if you have concerns ring your surgeon asap..I felt like a pest when i kept ringing but I knew something was def wrong and I was right.
Better safe than sorry. A hematoma CAN resolve itself but this leads to a MUCH greater risk of capsular contraction in the future, so best to have it drained and cleaned.
Lots of love and healing to you all
