Before getting my teeth whitened I was looking on the forum, and I couldn’t see much about having it done, so I’ve thought I would share my experience of getting my teeth whitened with MYA.
I have always wanted to have my teeth whitened..but usually to have it done professionally the price ranges to around £400 (not something I would be prepared to pay!) I am having a BA with MYA, so when I saw the forum £150 deal, I knew I had to get it done!
I paid £100 upfront to secure my appointment with the dentist, and when after my appointment I paid the remaining £50. There was also the option of purchasing a whitening pen for top ups which cost £35. I did purchase this, but I lost the instruction manual, so if anyone could send another one to me it would be really helpful!!
The whole process was very straight forward, before the whitening started I had a conversation with the dentist who explained the risks and what to expect, as well as highlighting do’s and don’ts for after the treatment, for example no red wine,coffee,hot drinks for at least 24hrs after the treatment.
For the treatment I had a mouth stretchy thing in to hold my mouth open, a guard around my gums and the dentist applied 3 lots of whitening gel to my teeth for 10minutes at a time. I didn’t find the process painful at all, it was slightly uncomfortable holding my teeth together in a forward position (I have an overbite) and having my mouth open for all that time. To start with my teeth were already pretty white…but they still managed to lighten another 4 shades! I am so pleased, and can officially say I have a hollywood smile. I had no pain after the treatment until around 4 hours later….when I did find it very painful, but after waking up this morning the pain seems to have subsided!

The only problem is I can’t brush my teeth for 24hrs after treatment…..so I’m feeling pretty grimy right now… lol
