Hey, i just wanted to know if anyone’s gone through paying for the BA through Mya piggy bank? probably not, bus as i haven’t got all of my money saved up does anyone think it is a efficient way as you still need a consultation to get one and i don’t know whether it’s worth it as i haven’t got all the money ready to even have a consultation just of yet & i have seen people comment about how pushy they are with payments and money haha, Thankyou xx
Hey Hun the consultation is free I had mine in January and opened a mya piggy bank I only had 1 call on the date I told my PC I would be ready to make a first payment and then I saved once I had £500 in there I booked my date and carried on saving when I got to just over half the amount I then applied for 10 months interest free for the rest and was accepted the amount was just transferred over nothing for me to do and il pay 10 equal instalments for the remaining 40% I owe ! The saving does work as you can’t spend it and there’s no time limit either I’m having my surgery Sunday after having my first consultation in January I’ve been paid up since May but wanted my surgery at the start of the summer hols because I’m a teacher I really wasn’t pestered at all and when I decided I wanted to go bigger I just called and my PC made a second consult for me. I also changed dates by 4 days for surgery after I had paid my deposit and they were fine just said no problem xx
Yeah i’m having my first ever consultation next week and im so nervous i know i am no way near surgery yet but im just glad i’ve already took the first leap as its just something massive to me! How long does it take to set up a mya piggy bank from your first consultation? she said its only 30 mins is that how long yours was? she wanted to do one tomorrow but i felt thats too soon/rushed for me haha need time to take it all in. I just dont want to feel like they are rushing me and pushing for money as ive seen some comments that’s how people felt, hopefully they are lovely! Do you make payments whenever you feel ready toward the BA or do you have to have the full amount saved up in the piggy bamk before you can get the surgery, im a bit confused! haha … Who did you get the 10 months interest free if you dont mind me asking? It seems SO easy! its the pain im worried about haha , Thank you for the help hun @rosy xxxx
Ah no worries Hun I’m happy to help if I can! I did find when I first called they were very pushy to get me in but that’s a call centre I think!! My consultation was about 10 mins with the surgeon he didn’t make conversation at all but answered everything I asked you have to ask anything you want to know!! Then I went in with my PC and I talked so much I was in there an hour!! I was the last appointment so she just stayed late for me. I booked my surgery with £500 deposit and I got the interest free over 10 months from Mya Finance so I’m having the op in 3 days having paid 60% of my fees (you have to pay at least half for this deal ) and after my surgery il pay 10 equal monthly instalments to pay the rest! You open the piggy bank simply by making the first payment over the phone, you pay when you want and how much you want , if you apply for the half upfront half over 10 months it’s best to wait till u have the half because once accepted you have a certain amount of time to get the upfront half paid there are other finance options but I didn’t want to pay interest xxx
Oh I didn’t realise that mya piggy bank came with interest! Thats something which I don’t really want either I’m guessing that half is about 2 and a half … Approximately! I will just go in with my first consultation I think it’s with the PC and see what she says! thankyou rosy @rosy & I thought you only get to ask about the surgeon you don’t meet them til the next consultation? Do they have any other deals or just your one? Because ideally I just wanted the mya piggy bank to put in payments for the BA so that I can’t take any of that money out and then once I have enough book in for it? Can you not do it that way as I didn’t know you have a time limit & do I need to have my £500 deposit for my first consultation? haha sorry for hundred questions xxx
Hi Hun, I’m using the piggy bank scheme. I had my first consultation back in May with my PC and I made my first payment a week after that. Ya don’t need to make any payments at ya consultation unless u want to set up the piggy bank on the day. There’s no interest charges, ya just put in what ya want when ya want. The interest is charged on the finance options.
I made my first payment a week after my first consultation but I think ya can do it on the day of ya consultation. It’s set up as soon as you make ya first payment. The first payment can be however much you want as far as I know. I opened mine with £100 and then set up a standing order for regular payments. I also make extra payments as and when I can afford it
Hey Hun sorry I’ve confused you, the piggy bank doesn’t have anything to do with the finance or interest! I chose to apply for 10 months interest free credit after I had started using the mya piggy bank! If you just click on the finance section on the website it will explain it all to you xx
