Hey Pam i had the macrolane injection over a year ago now but got used to the size very quickly as only went up a cup size. I’ve decided to have a ba now and have to have the rest of the macrolane removed first. I regret having the injection now and was very concerned when i decided to do a bit more research into the detection of breast lumps. Macrolane is safe in your body but i have a benign lump in my left breast that i have had for years but as soon as i had the injection i could not feel the lump anymore and was worried about not being able to feel for any new lumps. The people that produce macrolane say that it doesn’t affect the diagnostic value of a scan but i then found an article saying that this is not the case so i went to the breast clinic in my local hospital to see one of the top breast surgeons there. I was quite alarmed when told there was no point in having a scan as the macrolane would just look like cysts within my breast tissue. The only up side to me having the injection is that it gave me an insight in to what my boobs could look like and has pushed me into getting a ba which i should have done years ago also it means i can fit a slightly bigger implant in now cause the skin has stretched.
Some of the girls on the sofem website seem very happy with the macrolane but i have also read some horror stories on there. It is very expensive between 2-3k and then you need to pay for top ups every year with again could end up costing you a grand or more a year. Some women have had the injection and 6 months later the product has been totally absorbed and your back to square one.
