I’m due to have my surgery in August and I’m currently a 32a bra size. Since the age of 13 I knew I wanted to get my boobs done at some point in my life as they never really developed, however I’m really starting to get nervous about my surgery and the fact that it’s a lifetime commitment. I’m 50/50 about it now but I think it’s just the nerves to be honest. Can anyone share their experiences with me as I’m kinda worried now. Also my surgeon has recommended for the implants to be placed under the muscle and was just wondering if anyone has had this done as I’ve heard that it can be quite a painful recovery.

Hey Kristina! I’ve heard that having implants under the muscle take longer to recover however the pain depends on the person! You can do things to help with the healing process such as drinking protein shake straight after your surgery as protein helps muscle heal, keeping your vitamins up like having dissolvable vitamin C too! Stock up on pillows too! They give you plenty of different pain killers as well as antibiotics as a precaution! I’m feeling the same but I know that it’s still what I want, just make sure you give yourself plenty of time to heal and don’t push yourself too hard otherwise the healing process might go backwards! Also, if anything goes wrong then your surgeon will most likely fix it for you however all of these surgeons have been doing this for years so I’m confident that you’re in safe hands! I haven’t had my surgery yet (20 days to go!) but honestly I think you will be fine as long as you look after yourself during your recovery! I hope this helps! Xx

I put this in another post but might be helpful:

    Dr Fiumara did my surgery

Was a strange but fabulous day … I went to Fitzroy at 9. Felt like I was waiting for ages because I just wanted to get on with the surgery. Nurses came in and out of the room over the next couple hours with paperwork, pregnancy test &the couture surgery gown … Finally just after lunchtime I was going up. The anesthetist (sp?) was super friendly & I was joking around with the people in the operation room. I’d never had a general anaesthetic before so was nervous about it, tried not to look over at the guy laying out equipment because I found myself suddenly wanting to (maybe not so jokingly) ask if anyone just gets up at this point saying nope! I was told that the drugs were going in now, tiny sensation in my hand where the catheter was, a odd metallic tasting breeze went down my throat & the next thing I knew I was awake in my room. My friend came in & I instantly thru open my gown like say hi to these!

Day 2 & 3 post op were the most uncomfortable & then first thing in the morning I feel like I’ve been sat on by an elephant but my mobility is much better & in coming off the pain medication slowly now
