Nightmare situation…anyone else?

Hiya, so my op is on Wednesday and mother nature has hit with a vengence! I’m worried now because I’m going to be on my period for my op? Has anyone else been in this situation? What happens? ? didn’t even think about it happening tbh and cos I’ve stopped my pill I wasn’t really keeping track!x

I came on about 12 hours after my op, typical! It wasn’t as bad as I thought, just had plenty of below the waist showers! I did bleed for longer tho? Probably just a coincidence. Good luck for wed xxx

It’s not so much after the op, it’s during! ? I’ll. Be a sleep to shower with ease but I’m just worried about the day! Paper knickers and things!? ? sods law! Haha! Aw thank you. Don’t suppose you know where I can get some ice packs from?x

I didn’t have to wear paper pants, I wore my own in surgery, it wasn’t discussed if I was on my period beforehand with the nurse, but I have been put in paper pants after a c section and they held up quite well, so for a short op like ba things should be OK if u have to wear them, u will be able to change again after ur op is finished. And I already had ice packs, but a friend of mine got hers from the pound shop lol u no the kids Mr bump ones, they are the perfect size apparently. I havnt needed mine once yet tho, x

I told them when I arrived they said they would get me a sanitary towel to go in paper knickers but then she came back and said I was fine with whatever and could wear my own knickers under my paper, I was actually glad of this 🙂 hope this helps xx

Thank you girls! It’s reassuring to hear! I’ll just mention it to the nurse when I’m there and see what she says. Couldn’t of been a more awkward time to come on!! ?
I’ll pop in pound land, I didn’t think of there! I just read on here that a few girls said they helped loads so hopefully IF I need them, at least I have them! This will be my last Monday of crap boobs! Yikes!!xx

It’s the best feeling ever nikki! To finally have good boobs after so many years, I am completely in love with them ?lol xx

I badly didn’t want to be on, during or whilst revering so I went to the docs and got noresthisterone. My doc says they are known as the holiday pill. Stop u having a period for 2weeks or if ur on, can make u come off. I would use them. Had my BA done today my poor hubby is wiping my bum, I couldn’t imagine being on as well 🙁 xx

I’m getting so nervous now! But I just can’t wait! My admission is 3pm so that’s a bit crap and it’s gonna be a long day but it’ll be worth it! Xx

Mine was 12 and if I remember rightly I was out by 5, I don’t no if u have already said but who with and where nikki? I havent needed any help with toilet or anything etc, I even got myself dressed after the operation, I was out of the clinic 45 mins after the op! Everyone has a different recovery, and I was definitely 1 of the lucky ones, I have had no pain, just some minor discomfort. Xx

I’m at Preston with Traynor! I’m so bloody nervous, but now I keep getting the feeling it’s gonna get cancelled! I hope I’m like you, I do have quite a high pain threshold so I’m hoping I can just plod on! Xx
