No response from PC / Nurse? Me and my goopy incision are getting impatient!

Does anyone find it really hard to get hold of their PC or nurse?

I’m still worrying about my incision that i think may be infected, i rang the 24 hours line on sunday after being advised by MYA on twitter to ring them (high five to the social media guys for responding straight away on easter sunday) & the girl on the phone basically just said wait the bank holiday & contact MYA tuesday, so i emailed some pics yesterday to my PC and tried to call and i’ve heard nothing back…

Doesnt put my mind at ease when the nurse on the phone sunday was like “Oh it wont be an infection cus you’ve been on antibiotics” and i told her i hadn’t been on antibiotics and she gave me a “…oh…erm..” response.

I feel like i shouldn’t have to keep chasing constantly?! isn’t this why MYA is more expensive due to their ‘fantastic service & aftercare’

Just me and my goopy incision gonna sit here and wait patiently not knowing what to do at all. Do i clean it, cover it, air it?! who knows!

Hi hun, did you not take the three day course of anti-biotics that they give you to take home?

I’d try and get into a doctors if you are really worried hun there’s no point waiting and worrying x

Call the 24 hour nurse again hun and demand an answer!! Don’t back down! xx

@destijl Nope i didnt get given any antibiotics whatsoever :/ i’m not sure if its because i’m allergic to 2 types but i can still take other ones!
& my doctors are closed today and theyre the kind of doctors where you have to ring in a morning to get an appointment 2 days after…so if i rang tomorrow it wouldnt be until monday! Just annoying that you pay all this money & have to result in going to your own doctor! xx

They should have given you something else other than the two you were allergic to. That doesn’t look good on their part to be honest.

Do you have any walk in clinics near you hun? There always my go to if an emergency like this comes up.

Maybe try ringing your clinic and getting an emergency appointment with a nurse or surgeon today

I was given a 7 day course of anti biotics to take i thought everybody was given them.. Strange.. Hope you get seen soon keep calling them xx

Mya mod saw this post & contacted my clinic & they just rang me! Who needs a PC when you can have a forum moderator lol i mentioned to the nurse i’d emailed in pics to my PC and she knew nothing about it! xx

Just shows a lack of communication. This is the bit that upsets me about Mya aftercare. The surgeons are excellent but the aftercare and customer services are not the best. Hope your incision heals hun. xxx

@kimbarweee I have found that the best way to get in touch is to post on here and wait for them to ring you! I’m glad they’ve been in touch now. Hopefully something will be sorted for you hun xxx

@hayleycx It always is isn’t it, whenever social media or anything is involved you get sorted straight away! (i do social media in my job i know all the ins and outs 😉 lmao!) but thankyou, got an appointment on friday! she said it doesnt sound infected so hopefully it’s just a late healer! xx
