nose ring? can i keep it in with tape over it?

i can’t take my nosering out as it’s tiny! have to get it taken out/put back in at the tattoo place i got it done. do you think it can stay in and they just put tape over it? or are they pretty strict with this? my op is on Saturday xx

im wondering the same thing! I have a ring in my upper ear! i havent looked into if i can get a plastic one yet! but i cant put it in or take it out they do at the tattoo and piercings shop for me!
why are we not allowed piercings in anyway?
hmmm would also love an answer to this guys?!

Hey, all piercing have to be plastic. I had to change all of mine and they then put tape over them
Not sure why but can’t have anything metal on you. Must affect equipment or something xxx

so they still put tape over even if they are plastic??
yikess. il have to go to the shop and hope they have plastic cartlidge rings or studs.

if not would they let me leave a stud in right up until i went down to theatre and then put it back in once i was back in my room?

@ness318 yeah they do, they ask if you have any in and then tape them up when you go to the anaethatist room haha. Suppose they can’t risk any complications can they.
Yeah I don’t see why not! I was going to do the same but didn’t want to risk it because I didn’t know how I’d feel afterwards and some close up really quickly xxx

It’s to do with in the event of needing to use a defibrillator or something. Metal conducts electricity and causes burns. Not that anyone is going to go into cardiac arrest but it’s regulations that they have to follow when anyone is under GA.

Yeah jessica I’m a nurse and that’s the reason why. I also have a piercing in a place where I don’t wanna go n get it took out lol I’m worried as it won’t budge n been there for a year! :/ xx

I’m a nurse too just the dental kind :’) same principle but I get yucky mouths!
