I thought I read somewhere you have to take fake nails off but what else isn’t allowed? Are you allowed eyelash extensions on? Can you wear any makeup to surgery at all and tongue bars do they have to be taken out? I can’t seen to find a list anywhere.

    Thank youuuu xxx

Not sure specifically for BAs, but from surgery I had in the past you are definitely not allowed fake nails because they use the colour of your nails to monitor blood flow. I think light make up was ok. But all jewellery including tongue/belly bars and earrings etc had to be removed incase they have to scan you in an emergency.
    Hope that helped 🙂 xx

Sorry kind of scary reasons but the nail thing they are proper strict about, I wore clear nail varnish to my first op and they made me remove that :/ xx

I was told absolutely no products on skin including makeup, fake tan, or even moisturiser or deodorant. Piercings have to be taken out or have a plastic retainer put in.

Nurse told me no fake tan 2 weeks before, no nails on and no eyelashes. Not sure about makeup and I’d imagine no jewellery either x

Your nurse should tell you at the pre op! Absolutely nothing is allowed, no makeup, no products what so ever, no piercings, no fake nails, no clip in extensions, no eyelashes! Xx

Think everyone has covered it all. That’s what the nurse told me at my pre op (which was two swabs- one in nose other in armpit) blood pressure and before pictures, she then told me that hair tied back with a bobble with no metal on it, all piercing removed, no false eyelashes (almost laughed when she said that as everyone thinks mine are false), no false tan for a fortnight before, no deodorant for 24 hoes before or after surgery, no moisturisers, no false nails, no make up, oh and said to stop taking the pill for two weeks before op and two weeks after the op. i asked surgeon what I could do to speed up my recovery time and if there was any way I could reduce the complications, his answer was DONT SMOKE, kept telling him that I don’t smoke anymore lol xx
