Hey girls I just wondered if anyone has an op coming up at first trust and been told they have a new policy and will now not allow you to travel home night of surgery?
Apparently I have to supply proof or my op will not go ahead!
I had my first ba there 5.5 years ago and we’re allowed to go home.
I had my op last wednesday and i went home that night, aslong as i ate, had a wee and my obvs where all normal then it was fine, i dont live that far, why do you have ti show proof of? X
I had my op 5 weeks ago and i travelled back to newcastle they do prefer you to stop close by but if you are feeling ok and you can eat you should be fine x
Im booked in for surgery at Liverpool with a different company and they’ve said to me I have to book a hotel (I have for 2nights) I need to be at least an hour away I live 2.5hrs away …gutted in a way as ill just want to go home but safety comes first I suppose xx
I think they want you to stay within an hour for your own good but if you want to go home and they want proof just book on booking.com show them the booking and cancel it x
Hi @kate. I was an overnight case because of the distance between my house and the hospital. I wasn’t given the choice, I had to stay at the hospital. I was happy with that though as I felt I was in the safest place.
It was a bit awkward as I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old, but we all made it work. Now I’m 30DPO!! A month – I can’t believe it!!
