one scar not healing properly 2weeks post op.

I went for my post op check on thursday , which was on day 10 because i couldnt make it back before then. I havnt healed properly on one side. The scar hasnt sealed and its twisted and lumpy. The nurse has assured me its the heat and to recover wth a plaster and return in another week. Ive checked this morning and theres still a little bit of brown blood on the plaster but its not as red and fresh as last week. Has anyone else had issues with the scar healing poorly?

I have they told me to leave it a week and it was fine still a bit gross but not sore now 4 weeks on they are fine still scabbed at the edges where my drains were but apart from that nothing. X

i had a similar problem, mine had actually opened a little bit towards the end of the scar on about day 10 and it only now well about a couple of weeks that it started to heal properly had to keep going back to mya every 3 days for them to check and change my dressing! was so annoying and really annoyed me as it delayed everything, sometimes certain people just take longer to heal, i didnt do anything straining to make that happen it just happened, but i wouldnt worry, it will heal itself naturally just have to be patient! i will be 8 weeks post op this thurs and my scar is still not 100% as its been delayed healing and i still worry about it so much now! x

I had a bit of stitch poking out at the end of my scars which stopped them healing properly for a few weeks. My nurse tried to pull it out but they weren’t ready but my bf managed to tug them out eventually! If they don’t hurt when you gently pull them then you can do it yourself. My scars are fine now and not lumpy anymore. X

I have really bad scars because my incision opened up, and I healed badly. the company I went with said they would do correction surgery for free to fix the scars. if worst comes to worst, something can be done to fix them x

Hi girls,

I’m quite concerned because I never had external stitches, just steri strips taping the skin together. I know is because one nurse who initially started to remove the steri strips went to ask another nurse why there were no stitches and also to have a look at the incisions as one in particular not healing. I’ve tried to remain calm about them , and keep telling myself its normal and will be ok but I keep taking pics and I do look like I’ve been butchered. I’ve had a c- section in the past and this was a very neat almost invisible line 1year on so I know I am not one of those people that don’t heal we’ll 🙁
