I’m a bit concerned now. When I had my consultation last sat I was told that I needed a letter from my GP to say I am OK to have surgery. (On antidepressants, have been on and off them for 8y) so I said that shouldn’t be a problem as my GP knows about my issues with my breasts and that I was coming to see about getting them done. So I went to my GP on Monday and told her that it’s all booked for the 2nd Feb that I’ve paid £1000 towards it already and my next apt is on the 14th, and I needed a letter from her saying what medication I’m on, that I’m stable to have the op done. My HP said that she would be happy to, however she didn’t feel comfortable writing my med details down signing her name and sending it off to a company she doesn’t know, she wants them to fax her details of the operation and who the surgeon is etc…. (Which I understand as its her life her career if it was a dud scam or anything she’d be in the firing line for repucussions etc) so I called Mya Birmingham Tuesday and told them what GP said and that she wasn’t sure what info they were after exactly and I was just told that they needed the name of medication, length of time I’ve been taking them and that I’m sound of mind to have it done, so went back to GP and said that but she still wants them to fax her (-again I understand this….doesn’t seem unreasonable to me to be honest) so I called again at 5 tonight and explained and they said they’d give me a call back, which they haven’t so I’m a bit peeved to be honest. And now the more I read some of the comments on here about ladies being turned down due to depression I’m getting slightly anxious. Please please please can someone put my mind at rest about the whole depression and surgery thing. Also advise on this whole fax consent thing thank you xxxx
And wondering if anyone else is booked into London to have it done daycase on 2nd xx
