Op day tomorrow… Can I go straight home if I'm a daycare?

Hi girls I’m in as a daycase patient tomorrow but they advise you not be further away from than the hospital than an hours trip but I live 3 hours away… Can’t I go straight home and if an emergency were to arise I would go to a&e? Advice appreciated girls x

depends how far away you live, they say first night you should stay within an hour of the hospital unless you already live within an hour!

@vicky welch am certain you can go home after your op, they give you few hours to rest after the op, thereafter you can go home. I had my op 3weeks ago, day case and left the hospital around 6pm to get home for 7:20pm. No place like home babe, goodluck xxx

You may wanna book a hotel just incase. I was a day case. Admitted at 11:30 but op wasnt until 5:10pm. I then wasnt discharged until 11pm and just wanted to sleep so was glad I had a hotel room xx

Thank you everyone im going to take money for a hotel just incase I don’t get out until late, at least if it is that late the roads would be clear lol I live like 3 hours away 🙁 but ill see how I feel after the operation xx
