Op Day? Who can come?

I’m having my op on the 5th June, my partner is taking me and staying with me for the day however we don’t have anyone to have our 5 month old baby, so the plan was the bring her with us and he can take her for a walk whilst I’m in theatre/in recovery.
Does anybody know if you’re allowed children on the ward? I can’t see why not as it’s a hospital, but just with them not being allowed in consulting rooms I thought they may have a policy on hospital rooms too…?

I went on my own and booked in myself and then someone picked me up after. So it may be possible for you to check yourself in and when you’re ready to leave to give your hubby a call to pick you up? He may be able to wait for you
at reception if he’s not allowed in with a baby. Although depending on how you’re feeling post op you may really need someone to assist you, hold you just in case you feel dizzy or a bit unstable on your feet. Best of luck on your op.

Ahhh I didn’t realise babies weren’t allowed, I’ll have to arrange childcare for that day hopefully I’ll be in and out! Xxx

No children also you could be there longer than 6 hours x

Thanks Demi! My mums going to have my little girl luckily she is off work! I’m hoping I’m not there that long though, the last time I had anaesthetic I came round immediately after and felt great, however it was also about 18 years ago! Haha
