Hey girls I know I posted some stuff yesterday but thought I would do an overall write up of the day as I know those kind of posts really helped me in the run up to surgery! My admission time was 12 0’clock at the first trust hospital, arrived a little early and after 5 minutes was shown to my room by georgie I think her name was?? She was lovely! The room was basic but had TV and en suite which was good! My friend was in there with me the whole time except when I went to theatre and she went on the hunt for coffee (the paperwork says visitors aren’t allowed to take food, but when I went to theatre food & drink were not available as it was too late so someone made her one – just to keep that in mind!) First was some paperwork, my obs and a pregnancy test, and was told they were running behind so I wouldn’t be going to theatre until about 3:30-4. It went really fast actually as people kept popping in and out – first the doctor, then the anaesthetist, then the surgeon…. But by the time I was taken through it was 5 o’clock! Was back in my room for 6 babbling on about bacon sandwiches??? Told I would be kept for 3 hours for observations (which they did about every half hour) and then finally got to leave just before 9pm! All in all it was a great experience, everyone was lovely just wish I hadn’t had such a long wait! Anyway I’m back home now, slept ok but did keep waking as different parts of me kept going numb ? woke up very achey but I’ve had my paracetamol and ibuprofen and that seems to be helping! A day in bed with the TV for me! ???
