Op in 5 days and Illness

I have my op in 5 days and I’m full of a cold and sore throat it’s nothing I can’t deal with but someone mentiond If I’m ill at all they won’t do my op!! I’ll be devastated if I get there and they can’t do it I’m hoping I’m better by then but does anyone know if they will still do it or not ?? X

I was absolutely full of a cold and they checked my stats and asked if I actually felt ok (I didn’t but said I did lol) My op still went ahead, just hammer the lemsips x

I had my op Tuesday and had a sore throat also couldn’t stop coughing I was really worried on the travel there that I would be turned away. However it was fine. I didn’t mention anything and my temperature was fine and all went ahead. Just do everything you can from now until your op day to stay well. Stay inside warm, and before you go to sleep put vics rub on your feet and wear socks to bed I swear it works getting rid of a cold! Xxxx

I got sick as well 5 days before my operation so i called up and asked, they said they’ll go ahead with my surgery unless i get a fever or a cough! Noway anesthetia with fever and the coughing is bad on the stitches afterward and will make breathing harder when placed on breathing machine while in surgery, they also prescribed some medications that don’t do blood thiining and vitamin C fizzy tablets and i felt much better by the day of surgery

@lala111 thanks for your comment feel loads better after reading these!! I don’t have a fever or anything I do have a cough but just a dry annoying one and a blocked nose but I’m hoping it wil be gone before op day!!

Fingers crossed, I’m taking bechams tablets and doing everything I can to get rid but it’s not shifting ???? Hoping by some mirical I’ll wake up feeling great tomorrow xx
