Hi girls, got my op on Monday at 12 with Dr mounir at preston so just wanted to ask if anyone knows if I will have to stay in over night if my admission time is at 12? How many people can come to the hospital with me? And did anyone take food with them for after the op? And if anyone has any last minute advice for the op day? X
Hi hun,
Only if you’ve paid for an overnight or if something is wrong.
Not sure on the number of people I only had my boyfriend with me. There are two chairs in the rooms though. Guests can’t sit on the bed only the patient can.
I took food it says on the door not to bring food but everyone does.
Wifi isn’t free. Don’t eat 6 hours before the op and don’t drink water at all when you get there only after your op. Make sure you wee before you go in surgery too
X
Hi huni, my admission was 12 at Preston on Tuesday and I left the hospital at half five. There were two girls after me as well and neither of them stayed in as far as I’m aware. I’m sure you’re allowed 2 people in your room, you’re not supposed to take food into the hospital with you but they give you tea and toast afterwards once you’re ready for it. I thought I’d be starving cus I love my food but I was just really giggly off the painkillers and wasnt starving at all, just really thirsty!! I’d just say try and enjoy the whole experience as much as possible, everyone at Preston was so lovely and calming! X
Thank you. I rang the hospital and they said I can have 2 people. I think I will take some food then but maybe leave it in the car. I’m actually looking forward to just sitting and relaxing before my op lol. X
Are you at the Fitzroy? If so, my boyfriend came with me and brought his sandwiches because he was there for 12 hours so definitely take food in with you for your plus one lol. And he was watching Netflix the whole time for free all I did was ask for the password which the nurse happily gave to me 🙂 xx
good luck hun mine is on the tuesday! x
Hey – i had mine on Monday at Preston with Dr Mounir. My admission time was 11 and i went in around 1.45/2ish i think. I was so nervous. My boyfriend came with me, there were 7 girls having it done on that day i believe. You get your own room which is quite comfy and as soon as you come back around the nurses ask you if you want some food. It is about 3 hours after coming out of your op that you can leave – i had energy drinks in the car with a bit of chocolate – they tell you to keep hydrated so plenty of water is perfect.
Mine are still very swollen, not too painful just a few aches here and there but cant wait for them to take their actual shape. Good luck – everyone at the hospital are lovely and very calming.
Vic xx
