I had mine on Monday and here’s how my day went:
I got to the hospital (First Trust in Preston) at about 8am. Was shown to my room, and waited for the nurse to come. She came in and asked me the usual questions, allergies, if i was pregnant etc etc and have me the very sexy stockings, gown and paper knickers to put on. She left and a few mins later a doctor came in to take my pulse blood pressure and check my lungs. After that the theatre nurse came and introduced herself, and said that she would be the first person I would see when I came around. Around quarter to 9 Dr Mounir came in and drew on me and took some pictures, had a bit of a chat and he said I would be the first one down. After him the anaesthetist came in and had a quick chat with me, asked about allergies again and just general chit chat. The nurse came to get me at quarter past 9, took me into the theatre room (you never actually see the room you have the op, it’s a little room next to the main one) had a chat with me and then knocked me out. About an hour later I came round and don’t think I had been in yet. The nurse was like yeah you have, I had a quick peek and was like oh yeah they’re new(seriously I felt like I was on another planet!!!) I got wheeled back to my room and drank about a gallon of water (defo do this makes you feel so much better) They came to check my bp about every half hour. At about half 11 I had some biscuits and a cup of tea which made me feel miles better. You need to go to the loo before the let you go. After I had gone I got myself dressed with the help of the nurse and they gave me my painkillers and antibiotics. I was doing really well so I was allowed to leave the hospital at half 1!!! And I have been a lazy Buggar ever since haha!!
Hopefully this covers everything, Anything else give me a shout xx
