I had a consultation with dr g last year but wasn’t in a full time job to be able to finance the op, now I feel I am starting to get very down again about my nose after trying to ‘forget’ about it for some time as it just seemed impossible to pay for.

Has anyone here had a REALLY successful open rhino with dr g where their nose was very wide and bulbous and had an alar base reduction that made a great difference at all?

Just I am not prepared to put myself through the op and the healing if the outcome is not much different than now…

Any opinions/advice is very welcome! x

    Hi Evelyn,
I’m having Dr G on the 1st of May for open rhino, and having most work done on my tip and having the size of my nose reduced. The problem is when you have tip work done the swelling can last up to 12 months so you don’t see the full difference for a while afterwards so am told. Your nose after surgery will definitely be different but Dr G said they can only reduce your nose so much in one surgery so it really depends how much thinner you want it. If I were you i would go for a 2nd consult, thats what I did because its been 6 months between my 1st consult and me booking, and you can go back over things with him so he can make you aware of the changes that will happen. Since booking I have had moments where I have thought am I doing the right thing, but then realised I hate my nose that much that I would be glad of any change now as long as I don’t look like michael jackson lol. Also the prices went up by 1000 in April last year so I’m told, so will probably go up again at some point. Sorry I couldn’t be of more use with pictures and good luck with whatever you decide to do x x
