I’m not a Mya patient but I’m looking for advice and feel the need for a rant.
I’m 7 months post op and I went to see my surgeon as I was having complications after my breast enlargement and nipple lift on one of my nipples.
I told him that one of my breasts looked great but the one I had the nipple lift on I wasn’t happy with, as my areola had overstretched to almost twice the size of my other one, the implant moves around, especially when I lie down as it drops into my arm pit and when I tense my chest muscles my natural breast moves up and hangs over my implant and the that breast looked saggy.
He took photos and you could clearly see all these problems, especially when I tensed my chest muscles.
But he told me that this was perfectly normal and that I had a good result!
I got upset and said well if this is normal why hasn’t it happened to my other breast? He keep trying to fob me off, saying that each breast is different!
I told him that everything was fine until 3 months post op and that I was not happy with my result. I really had to argue my point and stand my ground and he eventually admitted that I had a developed a muscle flex deformity and also if by implant was sliding around that the pocket must be too large. He also said that my implant dropping must have overstretched my areola and caused the sagging. He eventually agreed to do a revision operation to fix these issues by redoing my nipple lift and making my implant’s pocket smaller. But I’d have to wait until I was at least a year post op before he’d operate.
My surgeon trying to fob me off and say all my complications were normal, when he eventually admitted they were not has really annoyed me and made me lose trust in my surgeon 🙁
My first photo is around the 2 and a half months post op and the others are at 6 months post op.

I dont think you are over reacting, i dont wanna seem harsh but there is a clear difference and i wouldnt be happy! Its so soon after your op too.. if this was years down the line then probably more understandable, but 7 months they should still be perfect! The boob with no lift does actually look fab to me its just that one, i wouldnt let them fob you off xx

You’re defo not over reacting.. They do look good, but u can see a difference between them both.. How the surgeon cannot see that i do not know, you’ve paid alot of money to be happy with your breasts & he should understand that you’re not happy and re-operate them for you, it’s not your fault.. It’s his, hope you eventually get what you want, don’t give up, you’ve paid alot of money remember xxxx

I agree with the others – stand your ground with this. If the surgeon has already admitted there are issues then he needs to reassure u he will do something about them, have you got anything in writing? If not, is be inclined to write a formal letter. Even if u have to wait a year post op – you want an appointment scheduled in advance. Good luck hun – keep us updated. X

Thanks for your replies and support, I really appreciate it 🙂
I came away from the appointment feeling really upset and belittled 🙁
But I will stand my ground with this as I’m really unhappy with the results of my left breast.
I don’t have anything in writing but he did take photos, write notes in my file and eventually agree to a revision operation.
He said he wouldn’t operate until I was a year post op as that was when I’d be fully healed and admitted that my breast may carry on getting worse, so he would reassess me in October or November and then discuss my options. I’m really dreading that appointment 🙁
What upsets me the most is him lying and saying that everything was normal and that I was over reacting, when he eventually admitted that it wasn’t. I felt like because I come across as a timid person he thought he could get away with just fobbing me off! And as I was leaving he still said that despite what I thought, he still thought that I’d achieved a good result!
CLAIRELH did your surgeon try and fob you off too or did he agree with you that you needed a revision? I had Motiva implants x x

Hi Hun hope you don’t mind me adding you but I also have motive implants now and this is the main reason for my re opp I have the ergonomics now and they are so bottom heavy this is what is making them drop so much my surgeon said straight away that I needed another op x
