I just edited what i posted.. i did have to push to get that in all fairness they gave me lots of other meds before agreeing to tramadol injection and then prescription to take home.. im soo glad i got it i was in pain and it transformed me in 30 minutes from not being able to move to up about no issues.. made things a breeze x

Why do you think they didn’t want to give you it? An injection of pain relief that sounds more like it was you in pain as soon as you came round? They better not leave me in pain I’ll be a crazy person lol ill end up in a padded cell xxx

Hey, they won’t want to give you oramorph (liquid morphine) or anything strong like fentanyl because it reduces your respiratory rate, meaning you will be on oxygen longer and they won’t want to give people it who are day cases especially. Just because they would need to monitor you longer. Plus it’s classed as a control drug in hospitals so they don’t like sending people home on it. I do think they should offer something else to take with cocodamol like nefopam for abit stronger pain relief though. I think it’s purely cause a lot of people opt for day cases so they won’t be able to send you home if you’ve had strong opioids xx

They won’t send you home either if your pain is mega bad, until it’s at an okay level. Plus if your in pain once your home you can go to your doctors and they can prescribe you something to help with the post op pain. So don’t be scared to go and ask for some more if you need it xxx
