Starting to really worry about the risk of getting CC! I can’t go with MYA but the surgeon I want only covers any revision surgery for a year, I’m going to be taking out a loan for 4/5 years but I’m worried of cc happening in this time and having to take out another loan for another op! It’s driving me mad worrying about it after I’ve wanted this for so long 🙁 xx

Why not find someone with a longer warranty period? I personally wouldn’t want to risk that if I was in your shoes. My PS covers you for ccfor three years. He is through The Spire.

The risks are very small, CC used to be one of the most common problems after a BA, they will never eliminate it but the risks are so much lower now than they were years ago due to the constant improvements to implants and the types of filling used, your risks are small but the problem with CC nowadays is that it can take months to develop to the point where it’s suspected and diagnosed whereas with the saline types symptoms would be seen very quickly, i would have real concerns about only being covered for CC for 12 months, do lots of research before you head into theatre if your finding it’s a major concern for you then at least your decision is an educated one xxx

Hey Hun my surgeon is mr Staiano, have you had a consultation with him? He’s amazing, really puts you at ease and is very honest and knowledgable, also don’t worry about CC the rate of getting it with the polyurethane implants is 1% at 15 years!! So 1/100…. I was really worried about it too but I feel confident going ahead now as I know I have the best implants to prevent it, let me know how you’ve got on xx
