I have the worst phobia of sick and have started working myself up about being sick after op…. Trying to ease my mind of all things that could go wrong for me!! I’m more nervous about being sick then the actual op! I have anxiety issues so the travelling there is going to be hard too!! I will not back down tho! Once in a life time thing!
I live in Birmingham and travelling to London. My coordinator has told me I will be fine to travel home and still be a day case even tho I live nearly 2hrs away… I’ve read loads of stories of people saying they’ll only let you travel home if you live 50miles or less away… I wouldn’t of booked in at London if I couldn’t go home and of found somewhere else be I’ve been assured this by my coordinator… Confused much!!! I hope my anxiety decides to take a back seat for 24hrs!!!

I may tell a little white lie too!! I don’t travel well with anxiety so would much prefer to go home away as I’ll be dopey and probably able to sleep most of journey!! Anti sickness seems to be the way forward!!! The nil by mouth is a bad one too as I’ll need a drink whilst travelling!!! Omg so many stupid habits I have!! xx
Hi Laura, I suffer from a general anxiety disorder, I also have a phobia of being sick.. When I first paid my deposit I worried for quite some time now its all in the back of my mind. I just hope on the day I’m fine, and feel as calm as I do now.. Obviously its normal to feel nervous right. For me I was, and kind of am a little nervous about the sedating! Im going with Mr Kazzazi who performs using a local anaesthetic and sedates lightly so already that makes me feel 100x better! You will be fine hun, just think the positives (easy said than done!) I’ve read on here before that you can ask for anti-sickness tablets aswell.. Good luck hun x
Hi babe, I have the same fear of sickness to an extreme to. I had my on on the 13th so am nearly 3 weeks post op. I told my pc about my fear and she made a note and told me not to worry but on the morning of my op when my anethatist came and saw me I told him how bad I am he was really brilliant and re assured me that he would make sure I was topped up with anti sickness meds the whole time I was their. He also made me wear a red wrist band so that everyone else knew too. I wasn’t sick or didn’t feel sick at all and still haven’t to this day. I had my surgery at Fitzroy too they are all brilliant and the nurses and staff are fab. Another thing I did to make sure I wasn’t sick I I didn’t eat from earlier than they asked my admission time was 7.30 I could eat up until 10 om the night before but I didn’t I last ate at 6. And you can drink 2 hours prior to admission and I didn’t at all from the previous night just to make sure xx
