The nurse at my pre op told me that I could leave my nipple bar in until just before the surgery and the surgeon would put it back in before the dressings were put on. So I left mine in, but on the day of the surgery Mr Mounir told me I should have taken it out 1 week before and he wouldn’t recommend putting it back in until over one week after the op. So I took it out about 3 hours before surgery but was a bit worried about it closing so put it back in as soon as I left the hospital! It’s been fine.
I’d ask if Mya can check with the surgeon. I’ve heard of some who will let you keep it in until surgery then they’ll put it back in.
Worth pointing out that i had to buy a longer bar because my nipples are so squashed in the sports bra and it was digging in.xx
