please help

I’m booked in for surgery in London on the 14th July, I live 2 and a half hours away from London. They say to stay near the hospital for the first 24 hours or so. Can I not just go home instead as I don’t really want to stay in a hotel down in London.

It took me about 2 hours to get home, I’m not that far from London but traffic is a nightmare. They knew I was coming home too… You’ll be fine just don’t use public transport xx

Hi my surgery is booked for next Tuesday in London and I live 5hrs away in Cornwall.. I said to my consultant I don’t want to stay in a hotel the night of my op and have to travel 5hrs home the next day when all the pain will kick in! She understood my opinion but all they can do is advise you to stay near by but you don’t have to..xxx

I live 3 hours from London and went home that night and was ok xx

I live in London so was only about 20 mins away and felt so sick in the car from anaesthetic that’s the only thing I’d consider!

Thanks for the replies girls, I think I will get my partner to drive me home after its done, I’d much rather be in the comfort of my own home!
