Hi girlies, I just wonder if anyone else has had really bad bruising around the bottom of breast and under arms. My bruising is black, dark purple and yellow. I’m day 6 post op and I am really in agony today, my pain killers don’t seem to be making much difference. My bra is digging in along the bruises, I feel like i have broken my ribs. I have got my 7 day day appointment with the nurse tomorrow so I hope she will reassure me.
I haven’t heard other people complaining to much about bruising and just wondered if its normal to have this much.

i will post some pics so you can see
    thanks xx

Bless you hun that does look really bad but I don’t thinks it’s abnormal which is good. Not sure about the red patch though, be sure to mention it tomorrow at your post op appointment. I have my 1 week check up tomorrow also xxx

i know I dont have any idea what to expect as I haven’t had my surgery yet but I’m a nurse and have seen this type of bruising so many times on patient’s who have had surgery. I don’t think it is anything to worry about, plus there isn’t anything that can be done about bruising either. The only advice would be to keep on top of your pain meds with 4 hourly intervals. Sending my love, it does look very uncomfortable!
And your boobs look fab! xx

Thankyou for your support girls. My breasts are sooooo swollen tonight, I feel the worse that I have since the op. I am so glad I’m seeing the nurse tomorrow. It’s a relief to know that others have gone through it Danielle @danielle101 and Angela @angiepants. I really appriciate your advice and am following your recovery journeys, Danielle your boobs look fantastic, they are really settling.
Jessica @jessy6067 I didn’t realise you were a nurse, thanks so much for your advice. Exciting day for you tomorrow hun, I will be checking my phone to look out for your post op photos lol wishing you the very best for tomorrow, have a good journey, relax and put your trust in Doc, he will do a great job 🙂
Thanks Gerda @mya450cc. How is your healing going? Is it going well? I hope you are one of the lucky ladies who doesn’t have lots of bruising, we had our op on the same day didn’t we? Good luck at your nurses appoinment tomorrow, i hope we see some photos after the strapping is removed!! You must be sooo excited to finally see them and to remove that tight bandage. Please post and let us know how you get on xx
Thanks girlies, I can’t tell you how much relief it is to talk to other girls on the same journey.

Yeah I am haha, will try and keep that quiet tomorrow as there is nothing worse than people tip toeing around you cause they know you do the same job ha. I’m sure your mind will be put at ease once you’ve seen the nurse, she will be able to have a good look at things and speak to you properly about it 🙂
I will try and keep you updated. Setting off around 5am and staying in a hotel down there on the night so hopefully will feel okay travelling back on Wednesday! I’ve got 17 days off work so should be enough.
Thanks so much for all your help and support xxx

@beckis bless you honey at least you can be reassured that the bruising is completely normal and the pain from the sports bra rubbing is expected if you’re so tender 🙁 I’m sure that will start to improve soon. Will all be worth it in the end. Yeah we had ours same day hun. I’m okay my nipples feel really tender and getting odd pains here and there. Still feel odd when I stand up and the weight of them drops it’s like a weird tingle lol I’m off my painkillers now though. I will definitely update later this evening. Although will be late as appointment at 6;15 and two hour travel home but will still update once home 🙂 and yeh i totally agree it’s so nice having this forum, learned so much and really reassuring having other girls to speak to.
Hope your pain and bruises ease off soon. Xxx

Thanks Crystal @crystal19811981, yours look badly bruised aswell, how many weeks post op are you now? Last night was such a bad night, i woke up at 3 and just couldn’t get back to sleep. If i zipped my bra up it hurt soooo much under my breasts and my side, I honestly thought my ribs were broken. But if I unzipped my bra then my breasts felt so massive, heavy and swollen that they felt really strange. So whatever I did felt terrible and for the first time ice packs were not helping.
This morning I got up, had a bath, got dressed, put on a new bigger bra (sent hubby out on an emergancy mission to M&S first thing, and I am feeling much better.
it just shows that every day is different, up and down. I am seeing my nurse later, so she can reassure me that everything is healing well HOPEFULLY.

Thankyou girls for sharing your experience, it really helps xx

Hi Beckinsale, I had this from day one till day 8 and could hardly move. I kept thinking surely I should be in this much pain! I went to see the nurse on day 7 and the bandages had to come off. I was in so much pain i wouldnr let the nurse touch me and pealed them off as she watched. Underneath I had a reaction to the glue in the bandages and looked like I had been sunburnt! I am still black, yellow and uncomfortable at times but it dies get better everyday.

Hi Becki they look a lot better today I think! The bruising looks like it’s starting to fade now and go yellow which is a good sign, my nurse said the yellow and green bruising is a good sign as it’s old. What did your nurse say today? Xx

Hi all, Thankyou so much for sharing your experience of healing in the first few weeks, I am glad to know others have been through the same problems and it was nothing serious.
I had my appointment with the nurse today and she reassured me that everything was fine and I am healing well. She cleaned my incisions, which really didn’t hurt but it did feel a very strange sensation.
Danielle like you said, the nurse also said yellow bruising is a good sign, it means the bruise is healing.
I think now its just a process of my body adjusting to the implants, when they feel heavy and full it makes me feel sick sometimes, they feel like oranges on my chest, and because they are so numb they just feel really weird. I know it will take months for the nerves to knit back together and for my breasts to feel like they belong to my body. I have to be patient and take each day as it comes.

i cant have a shower until next week grrr, good news is I’m still not up to doing any house work, for at least 6 weeks she said, I asked her to put it in writing for my husbands benefit :))))))

Thanks for all your supportive comments
PS claudia i will private message u now xx
