Please tell me it gets better?

Right now i am in SOOO much pain
1 day PO so i expected it, but it’s literally soo unbearable. I feel like a fat man is sitting on my chest and poking my incisions. Then all of a sudden i get really cold, THEN feel like I’m going to throw up, somebody please tell me the pain gets better??? 🙁

It does I promise!! by day 4 I felt loads better. The first 3 days for me were awful for me, I’m 8days po now, had my strapping removed, in a sports bra and feel good. I have a sharp pain in my left boob when I wake up on a morning but it goes after a few minutes but the nurse said that’s normal. But apart from that I feel good. Hang in there hun xx

I will second what Kirsty said Hun. Just bare with it. It is process we’ve got to go through for a short term then long term gain. Keep thinking of the nice new boobies you will have once they settled in 🙂 it is hard to see past the first week but promise it does get easier. Good luck & congrats x

Thanks ladies, just going to try and sleep off the pain see if that helps. Yes @redbullqueen just tryna tell myself that all this pain will be worth it in the end! And that these two triangles on my chest will settle to lovely boobs!

Lalaxo I am feeling exactly the same as you! I am in so much pain and they feel so tight, I can barely move and walking is a joke cos it vibrates the boobs!! I just want to sleep the next few days away, I read all these nice stories and thought there wouldn’t be much pain! How did you find the drains?? My right came put ok but wudnt stop bleeding and my left hurt like hell but didn’t bleed!
How long did you have to wait to be seen? My admission time was 12 but wasn’t in theatre til half 3. I finally left at half 9, was so glad to just get home!

Aww hope it gets better soon for u. Just keep on top of ur meds, I set my alarm on my phone to take them regular.

@xkirstyx OMG tell me about it, bcos of all the stories on here i didn’t expect to feel this bad, but i guess everyone is different. Walking is the worst, i hate when I need to go toilet ild rather wet myself then go through the pain of walking and having to hold my chest up.
The drains bit was awful for me! I felt every single bit of it but that’s cos the nurse said I’m soo tiny and my skins sooo tight & yes blood everywhere.
My admission time was 8.30 but i didn’t have my op till 1 then was told i had to leave 8 bcos someone needed my bed even tho i felt sooo light headed and wanted to throw up constantly. Tbh I think they should of kept me over night bcos everytime they took my blood pressure they said it was way lower than it should of been.
I duno just want this week to be over and feel normal again.

Awww @lalaxo sorry that you are going through so much pain. We all have different pain thresholds, so as much as we share with one another your experience will be your own. Definitely try to sleep through it – if you can, the body heals itself best.
Very very surprised that the hospital didn’t make other arrangements for you to stay over. What hospital did you go to? When I had my op I felt faint too and keep drifting in and out of sleep, even mid conversation… added with the thought of disrupting the drains and my boobs bumping around traveling back home was enough for me to say yes to the nurses when asked to stay over. If I have to go through op again I will definitely be staying over night again, I think it made such a difference with recovery. Try taking your meds every four hours and taking Nurofen plus (I had them on stand by just incase the Ibuprofen wasn’t cutting it).

Had mine done on Monday didn’t get outta bed till Friday except for the nessarys .. Just wanted to sleep as much as possible … Still feel a bit like im being crushed but its much better than it was. Just stay on top of pain killers and rest as much as possible ladys . It will be worth it 🙂

@lalaxo hope you feel better soon, just focus on the summer & think of the bikinis !! I went back to the gym for the first time today & I’m 3 weeks po – there is light at the end of the tunnel & the light has boobs! Lol x

im 3 days po atm really sharp horrible pains when i stand up after being sat or lying down for a while cant wait for my boobs to settle hope they get lil bigger in E sports bra atm!xx

I’m 1 day post op and feel so exhausted and aching all over like someone is sitting on my chest. My friend told me that by day 4-5 you’ll feel so much better but with a 1 yr old and a 3 yr old its so hard to get some sleep and trying to stop my 3 yr old wanting to sit on my lap or jump up to give me a cuddle lol! My hubby has been amazing and looks more tired than me! I was so pleased with how my op went and my surgeon did an amazing job. Felt so ill getting out of bed for the first time and was nearly sick, sweating and dizzy. Drains came out fine and didnt hurt but i’m covered in plastered. I was so pleased not to have been bandaged up. Was suprised as i thought everyone had straps on for a week! Can’t wait for the swelling to go down now and see what they are like when they settle! Got my post op appt on fri with the nurse. I’m currently taking my pain killers every 4-5 hrs and they don’t really feel like they’re doing much but when they ware off you can feel the difference. I know it’ll all be worth it in the end and its something i’ve wanted to do for years so i thought sod it. its my 30th this month and this is my b.day pressie to myself lol!!! Its so nice to read all your messages so that i know whats normal and that i’m not on my own going through all this. Walking is horrible and i cant even pick toys up off the floor as i cant get back up – feeling sorry for myself time lol! Hope all you girls get well asap and love your new boobies – we’ll all soon be boobilious 🙂

Hey girls like the rest if the girls said everyone’s different I’m 14 weeks po today I started to feel normal day 4/5 but I was strapped up for a week but it felt like an elephant was sat on my chest not nice but it does get a lot better girls I promise and you will have fab boobs to happy healing to you all I slept on the sofa for nearly 4 weeks sat up because its the only way I could get comfy and some sleep xxxx
