Hiya! I’m quite petite, 5”2 and 50kg and really wanting a “not stuck on” look however I do pole fitness and gym and this really isn’t something I want to give up. It’s a lot of upper body and I’m anxious about how going under the muscle would affect this although I know with my size that’s probably what will be recommended. Anyone here post op doing pole fitness or training push and pull movements at the gym that can share what it was like?

    Hi Casey,
I’m 5ft 50kg and I had 325cc (I think) back in December 2022. I was very much into weight training at the gym but only recently 6 months post op got back into it. It felt strange and admittedly I think a lot of it is mind over matter but I’m not lifting as heavy as I used to and I’ve changed my workout style because I’m so scared of something going wrong. It’s not something my surgeon and I spoke about much, I think you should be okay but it’s just being mindful of when you feel comfortable to get back into it? Like I’ve really struggled and I’ve noticed I’ve almost avoided my weight training so if you get an answer please let me know! X

    Hi Casey,
I’ve just had my op on 29th August, I got 375cc HP under the muscle. I do pole fitness and my surgeon advised that I need to be aware there is a risk that they could move in my chest due to tension from the muscle. It’s hard to explain but he showed me a video, I think he called it animation deformity.
I decided to take the risk anyway and am looking to get back to the pole studio asap after my 6 week sign off.

Sorry it took so long to reply I didn’t see this until now. I’m not actually booked until Feb but I spent a lot of time discussing it with Dr Mahdi and we agreed to go over the muscle as he thought the risks would be higher under given my lifestyle. Really glad that was an option for me but I imagine I’ll still be very anxious and cautious to return! My mam has had hers done a few years ago and is very into weight lifting but doesn’t train chest specifically, she manages okay doing other push movements that still engage the chest muscle but she said it did take some time to build her confidence doing it!

hey girls, i’m a keen poler too!! the only thing that was a deterrent for my boob job was the thought of not being able to pole… i’m an advanced poler and Dr MIleto and i discussed this in detail as i cannot bare the thought of not poling again (eeek) anyway i’m going 325cc dual plane and i anticipate to be back upside down on that pole in 8/12 weeks time… i’m booked in for my op on sunday so feeling anxious/exited and scared all at once x

That was me! If I thought I couldn’t pole again I honestly wouldn’t get it done hahaha. How exciting I’m glad surgeons seem to have an understanding of how physical it is, 8-12 weeks isn’t bad at all I hope it all goes well, you’ll have to let me know what returning to pole is like X
