Hi gals,
Im booked for my op on April 20th and I’m so excited, waited years to do this so i know I’m doing the right thing. I was told by my surgeon that i would be fine to go back to pole after 6/8 weeks, start light you know same advice as gym kind of. But as a poler you hear so many horror stories about capsular contracture due to using your chest muscles so much and honestly I’m bricking it a bit now!
Any polers or even like people who lift a lot in the gym have any advice or tips for me? Just to calm my nerves a bit really!
Thanks xxx
Probably not going to be much help but…
I had overs and donโt pole dance but I do run/skip and weight lift.
My right boob dropped fluffed and felt normal in 2 weeks. My left took 6 weeks!
I saw the nurse at 5 weeks who said I could start running again but because left boob was still swollen no lifting. A week later left boob was normal! But I continued with just running to avoid any complications.
I then saw the surgeon at 10 weeks who said I can do anything and lift as much as I want. So it really depends how you heal.
Most people can get back to their usual stuff by 6 weeks.
I would use ice packs or frozen peas or something on the top of the breasts for 10-20 mins a time in the first week or so. Finish the course of antibiotics they give you. Take plenty of paracetamol too. Donโt rush into anything too quickly, rest, give your body time to heal.
I was advised to double up on sports bras for exercise too, because implants are heavy and more likely to sag without adequate support.
Iโm almost 4 months post op. Been running and weightlifting since 10 weeks and my boobs are fantastic. No issues now whatsoever. I must admit I was worried about stretch marks/rippling and cap con but so far so good ๐
Good luck with your surgery. Iโm sure all will be fine!
Hi Ellie,
How did your surgery go? I also pole dance and been recommended unders but did mention to the surgeon that I work out 5 times a week and do pole fitness twice.. she said itโll still be fine as long as I rest the 6 weeks period โฆ
But still anxious. Howโs everything gone with you?
I also had overs and just like Natilly I had the same issue and still have, left still feels tight and my right one feels like my natural one now.
I have not lifted any weight since my surgery apart from carrying some shopping from week 5 and walking my dogs which can pull sometimes. I do only lower body weights but half of what I usually do with more reps and a lot of walking to get my weight and get my muscle mass back on track, going on holiday in 3 weeks so need my bikini body back after almost 2 months off.
I still wear my Macom/ surgical bra and sleep sat up and will continue to do so until my left one feels the same as my right one, however long it may take.
PS: thanks for sharing Natilly, just last night I started panicking a bit that my left one is still not ok, Iโm starting week 7 on Monday and hoping soon Iโll feel normal again.
Hi, I am not a pole dancer (sadly!). I had my BA 300cc unders on 3rd feb so over 5 weeks now. Like some of you my left boob feels fine and quite normal (dropped and fluffed) . But my right boob is still not quite right, itโs firmer, nipple area feels strange, and I get a burning stretch pain Underneath when I move around too much. Also shoulder joint hurts when I lift my arm. Is this normal? Should I massage my right boob? Seeing nurse on Sunday 19th March for 6 week checkup
