Hi ladies, just wondering for those who have had there op, how’s recovery been and how long is it taking everyone to get back into routine in there day to day life?
I have three week off work so that’s not too bad but I’m already worrying about taking time out of the gym. Is there anyone who’s had theirs and returned back to the gym, even to just so abit of cardio? Anyone in a similar position?
I am having 325cc over the muscle, high profile.
    Thankyou ☺️

I have overs and I’m 6 weeks today. My recovery was really easy. I was up and about from day one, even just walking on the spot when watching TV to keep my blood flowing to prevent blood clots. Went out shopping with my mam 2dpo which was frightening and being in the car was so uncomfy. Went out waking every day for 20 mins after that and increased it. Was pretty much back to normal house hold chores by day 8. I went back to the gym at 5.5 weeks. Lower body to begin with. And by the end of last week I am doing all the weights ag the gym. Cardio is a funny one, I don’t want to jump around. Although I have no pain, it’s an odd sensation of your implant moving (which is a temp feeling and will go away). I’ve been using the stair master and cross trainer as my carido. Hope this helps

Sounds like you’ve had a good recovery Hannah that’s so good. Hoping for a recovery like yours! I was kind of hoping maybe give something ago 4 weeks post but I’ll just see at the time. How long are you on the cross trainer or stair master? And how are you finding training lower body after 5-6 week off? The longest I havnt been to the gym is two week. So nervous about it ?xxxx

Hi Gemma, I’m just coming up to 6 weeks PO. I’m a body builder so was definitely nervous about taking time out of training. My recovery hasn’t been awful but plenty of discomfort and extreme tiredness. Tbh not training turned out to be fine, it just didn’t feel like the right thing to do, I was more focused on resting so my body could heal properly. I’ll be heading back into the gym next week and the way I’m feeling right now I’ll be be taking it easy to start with. I actually felt the first 4 weeks break were beneficial for my body in terms of general muscle recovery, most gym goers don’t factor in the need for proper breaks in training periodically. The most important thing is you have the time to rest a lot if you feel it’s necessary post op, just listen to your body and the advice of your PS and do what feels right. Good luck! x

That’s good, I hope I’m in the same mind frame! I can only imagine going out my mind right now not being able to train. How long were you out of work for? I am excited to start training again, concentrating on form and sorting any imbalances out to be honest. I know already I don’t get enough of a break so maybe it will actually help me out. Have you lost much muscle? Xxxx

I was feeling so flabby and like I’d gained weight so I’ve been excited and motivated for the gym but the pain is real haha. It’s a good pain tho. Carido I am so shit at, around 5 mins per machine haha

Hey guys sorry I am hijacking the post and I am only on consultation stages. Someone mentioned the feeling of the implant moving about if jumping around – this scares me – is this a thing?
I agree taking time off with gym and workout routine is scary but as a friend said to me, she would rather take 6/8 even more weeks out and recover properly than rush back so i guess we godda remember this and it will be worth it. xxx

I can imagine the urge and how motivated you are to get back into it ?I’m feeling it and I’ve not had mine yet ? have you gained much? Don’t forget you’ll be holding water too. It will almost drop off you once u get going again.
Lisa, I have heard especially in the first few weeks you can feel them but I suppose we’re bound to? You’ll get used to it. I’m not the one to ask I suppose! Xxxx

Gemma, I don’t think I’ve lost much muscle, if anything there’s been quite a nice maturing and hardening the the muscle I had, a result of the long recovery time they’ve had I guess. I was quite disciplined in eating a bit o er maintenance calories in order to retain muscle, even though there was a fear of weight gain, I’d rather have to shift a few extra pounds than lose hard won muscle. Tbh the weight has been minimal. I went back to work at 4 weeks, I’m a PT so lug weights around a lot. I totally agree with you about being able to work on form and imbalances, seems like a really good opportunity to hit the reset button. Of course the best thing is having to buy loads of new Gym gear, yay! Good luck and let us know how you get on! xx

Lisa, I’m finding wearing 2 sports bras makes jumping up and down feel fine. I imagine over time you get used to how it feels but I’m not ready to feel the bounce yet, and I worry they might drop off! x

Thankyou! Everything you’ve said is helpful. Your totally right. I’ll have to pull my finger out and discipline myself(I struggle the most with discipline on my rest days) this is abit different though. Wish me luck ??xxxx
