Hey girls,
Had my op on Monday. Recovery has been manageable however today my right boob is much more sore than my left, especially around my arm and moving my arm. Is this normal? Xx
Hi, I had my surgery on Sunday & I’m exactly the same. My left boob feels fine, my right has been agony since the moment I woke up & when the drain was removed, the pain was indescribable. I’ve had a couple of phone calls with the nurse & apparently if it’s not worsening & doesn’t look particularly swollen in comparison to the left then it is most likely quite normal. I’ve been struggling with even the most basic tasks like lifting a cup, brushing my teeth, sitting up in bed. I had unders though & believe it’s meant to be more painful. Not sure that helps but you’re not alone! This evening I’d say my movement has finally improved a bit but getting to sleep sitting up is a nightmare which is why I’m awake writing this now! Hope you’re ok & the pain settles really soon for you xx
Mine was exactly the same! Then my left went more painful and the right was fine ! I can move my right arm a lot higher up . I am 1 week post op today apparently it’s all the nerves re awakening, I do feel much better now and was able to sleep all night I only woke up once but went back to sleep! I’m also not on pain killers now. It’ll pass and before we know it it’ll be our 6 week check and measuring day ? X
Your not alone definitely! I was exactly the same as Jen and then today is the day after I’ve had the strapping off and it’s sore again and slightly achy but I imagine this is normal!
My strapping comes off tomorrow Bonny. Dreading it. She’s told me to dose up on painkillers! Hoping once that pressure is off it may help though. From reading al the comments it does sound like everything we are going through is normal. I just think I was maybe naive as to how much it would hurt! Anyway we’re getting there one day at a time! Quick question is there any way of getting notified when these forums are responded to or do you just have to find the conversation you were in and check? Feel like I’m missing conversations because I’m technically challenged!!!xxx
Ah thanks girls, it’s still so sore! My painkillers don’t seem to be working boo! I’m such a worrier, I sat outside yesterday for a few hours in the sun and was worrying thinking I had done too much hence the pain, so I’m glad we’re all in the same boat. Roll on our 6week checks! ? Hope your all ok and it starts getting easier xxx
I’m unsure too about notifications Jen, I only seem to get them on the forums I’ve started xxx
Thanks Rosie, I don’t get any but I’ve changed my settings to get them & no joy. I’ll just keep checking! I’m only in about three conversations at the moment so it’s not too difficult to keep up with! Just feel better chatting things through with people. Make sure you get some rest today. I stayed in bed all day yesterday & feel better for it. Although I watched miss you already which had me in floods & didn’t help!! Just need to take it easy. Our bodies have had a major shock xx
Yeah I absolutely love this forum! So reassuring, and nice to speak to everyone who’s in the same position. Glad your feeling better, I’m not going to move today. Had a bad night so going to try and sleep it through xxx
Same situation here had my op Tuesday was fine with just aching yester then today bang the pain really hit. I’m no wuss when it comes to pain but this does blinking hurt. My right boob is the worst and it’s higher and harder than my left. It’s more painful when trying to get up etc. I’m sure it’s all pretty normal and part of the healing process but it’s nice to know that we are not alone in this
