So ive got my surgery coming up in 3 weeks! However yesterday i found out that my university graduation ball is going to be 6 days after my op! 🙁 I know i wont be able to drink or go out all night but i want to at least show my face and go to the meal?I know everyones recovery is different but ill be gutted if i cant go to it and have to stay at home on the sofa… just wondering if im likely to feel up to going to an event like this 6 days post op? xx

Hi hun, I think if you take it easy and wear a supportive bra you should be ok 🙂 I was stupid and had my op knowing I only had 5 days off work, I had unders aswell! I was panicking going back to work coz i hadnt told anyone either, but i managed… good luck with everything 🙂 Xx

Are you having overs or unders? I had overs but heard unders are a lot more painful and I was absolutely fine went for tea and things at 5 days post op, I’d reccomend a nap before you go though as I was just extra tired all the time but now back at work and seem ok xx

@vanessa93 If I were you I would wear a super supportive bra and flat shoes you don’t want to topple over in heels when you’re only 6 days post op. Also don’t be standing around too much it can be very tiring.

I had overs too and had a really really positive experience I was feeling ok from 3 days post op but kept to a strict resting and healthy eating regime

@vanessa93 Try and be in bed or on the couch as much as possible for the first week or two. It’s a great excuse to be mega lazy, I loved it! Lol I found that when walking round I would feel the need to hold my chest too. I’d get plenty of fruit, veg and water down you too. I started off with a really good diet and then slipped up and now I have minor stretch marks 🙁

You will be surprised with overs at how much you can do hun but that doesn’t mean you should be doing house work or anything. I kept my arms firmly at my side as much as possible because I had a few occasions where I lifted them up and regretted it

@vanessa93 I think it made my recovery go even better. I literally started with eating fruit cups not long after Id come to after my op. I think the fruit and veg also prevented the constipation that a lot of other girls said they got post op.

Fruit, veg, water and then when you are two weeks post op I would recommend taking Vitamin E supplements for your skin. Plenty of dark leafy greens for adding collagen to your skin.
