Hoping any post op girls can share how their recovery has been?
I’m only planning one week off work, I’m in an office and MYA advised this would probably be enough. My boyfriend is coming to live with me for the week I’m off so can help out but just want to know how it’s been for people after the first week?
Also driving how have people been with that?
My surgery is booked for September and I can’t wait to finally have boobies but freaking out about recovery now x

Hi Karis. I’m on my 12th day post op now and honestly I still can’t use my arms too much. I go back to work in 4 days and I still don’t know if I’ll be well enough by then, I’m a hairdresser so I’m always using my arms! I feel fine in myself though, and pain wise I’m only getting the odd shooting pains in my incisions and still aching.
I drove for the first time 2 days ago and I couldn’t do it!! I couldn’t steer very well, I couldn’t go into 5th gear or reverse and I struggled with the seat belt pushing down on me.
Hope this helps a little, everyone is different though and recover at different speeds xx

Hi Lizzie, thanks for this I’m really considering taling a bit more time (if they’ll let me) it’s the driving thats concerning me most. Glad you arn’t in pain though and it’s just the restriction in your arms xx

@karis I’m 5dpo and actually took to driving today(naughty) and it wasn’t as bad as I thought tho I took things slow.. I struggled a Little bit with reverse and 5th gear but other than that it was okay didn’t feel it pulling any where at all….
Xx

Hey, I think everyone has such different experiences. But for me it was a good two weeks before I felt comfortable to drive. I tried day 12po and found it really uncomfortable so didn’t drive again for a few days afterwards. It’s worth booking more time off of you can as there is nothing worse than pushing yourself to get back when your not ready xxx

Hi 🙂 im 7 days PO and took 2 weeks of work as I’m a nurse and patients can be unpredictable! My pain is much better but i still struggle with lifting things and some movements but everyone is different so you may be absolutely fine after a week 🙂 it’s definitely a good idea having your bf live with you, mine did as well and he had to help me go to the loo and dress for the first few days! Haha xD hope this helps xx

I had about 2 weeks off work. I’m a supervisor in a shop so could avoid lifting heavy stuff. Was driving after about 9 days cos I was bored x

Yeah it really is a mixed bunch for recovery but that is cause everyone’s different I guess. Haha bless you Meg bet that was a fun few days lol, I’m glad he’ll be here.
My work doesn’t involve any lifting so I’m lucky with that one and thankfully have people that live near going to the same place so if I can’t drive but can work I’ll hop in with them (not that they know it yet ha) x

Hi karis I took a week off and also work in an office I was told not to lift anything for 6 weeks and was taking paracetamol every 4 to 6 hours while at work as it was still a little un comfortable I had my work mates moving everything for me and making me cups of tea just take things slowly and you should be fine xx
id recommend about 10 days/ 2 weeks off if you can I had a week off planned and was still in a lot of pain then and a lot of painkillers pain only really improved noticeably around day 11 which is when I went back to work in the end. im now day 15 now and still struggle a little bit but im happy to be back at work better than being bored at home xx
