Nearly 2 weeks till surgery, can anyone advise me on some essentials that I will need post op?
I’ve got a V pillow, bras and ice packs is there anything else which helped you?? X
hey Jasmine
🌺I stocked up on strong pain killers because the pain killers that the nurses give wasn’t strong enough for me so had to get stronger ones so might be something you want to plan just in case I’ve got friends who have had breast augmentation too and some of them had to get stronger pain killers aswell
🌺 I also stocked up on Wipes and flannels to wipe the top area down especially my arm pits because you can’t shower the top half for atleast the first week 🙈
🌺I had to use a hot water bottle to help with back pain because for the first week I had bad back pain and the nurse told me it’s due to me not holding myself correctly and walking around stiff because of the pain so had to learn to relax abit and it got much better lol
I’m 1 week and 3 days post op now and was told yesterday at my 1 week post op check up with the nurse that I can now shower because my incisions have heeled nicely
Hope everything goes well with your op
☺️Xx
I’m wondering too, any creams for the scars, do you girls put anything?
Hey Gita
My surgeon advised not to put any creams or bio oil on the boobs or scars for atleast 2 to 3 weeks after surgery I did stock up on bio oil and going to apply around the 2 and a half week mark I’m just over 1week post op now xx
Im only day 3 days post op but I think my two most valuable things have been my travel neck pillow and a button front nightdress. Good luck!!
Aw perfect thanks so much!! How have you been finding sleeping? I think worried about having to be upright and on my back because I’m either a side or on my front sleeper 😩
Hey Jasmine
sleeping for me was really bad for the first 4 or 5 days I was having really bad back pain couldn’t get comfy even while lay on my back with the v pillow and a few other pillows behind it
So I contacted my nurse and told her is the back pain normal and she said it’s normal to have some sort of back pain but the way I was describing it wasn’t normal lol not even pain killers would help
she said how do I sleep at night I told her how I have my pillows and how many I have lol and she said to me that I’m sleeping sat up too much and I need to lower myself abit because you don’t actually need to be lay up too straight
U can lower yourself abit not lying completely flat but raised up abit just enough to be able to get up on your own again
I was like 😮 no wonder I have back pain 🤣
So that night I took pillows away I put 2 pillows lay behind my v pillow then one for under my bum so it’s level with the other pillows and that helped really well I slept alot better that night
I’m also a side sleeper only I don’t sleep on my front or back usually lol it’s been a nightmare I’m still sleeping on my back now
Sorry im 1 week and 4 days post op now and sleeping through the night now without waking up once or twice with the pain
I was told it gets easier before I had mine done and it’s true the first few days / week is the worst but it gets better ☺️
Don’t make the mistake I did by sleeping up too high just glad I called the nurse when I did otherwise ide still be sleeping up like that now
Xx
Also the pain killers make you hella constipated so I stocked up on lactulose and senna and that helped quite a bit.
I also had one of those plastic cups with a lid and a straw. You know the ones you can buy in the home section of sainsburys or new look and people use them for parties and festivals. That was helpful at the beginning so when I wanted to drink I didn’t have to lift my arms as much
