Post op questions

Hi girls, I have a few questions about after a BA, hope u can help 🙂

How long can u not drink for?! I only want to have 1 or 2 6 days after my op as I’m booked in to a lovely place that does gorgeous cocktails! Just hope I’m feeling ok!
How long til u can have a shower?! Can u get waterproof plasters abs cover your incisions?!
Where can you buy the incision plasters/covers?!
How long for not driving?! Or until u feel comfortable to?
How long sleeping on your back?!
For anyone having overs, how long were you in pain for after?!

Hi lovely, i think they advise not to drink for 2 weeks but i think a few girls have had 1 or 2 when theyre about a week post op. I wouldnt have been able to face alcohol personally!
The nurse will advise you when to have a shower when you go for your 1 week post op appt – I had my appt 6 days post op and was allowed to shower 7 days post op (although i showered on day 8). She put some waterproof plasters over my incisons as they looked a little pink and told me to remove them when i had my first shower. I didnt use any more, but i think you can buy them from Boots/Superdrug.
I think you can drive after 1 week but there was no way i felt up to it, i waited until 2 weeks post op and im fine now, ive driven loads since! (im just over 3 weeks post op)
I forgot to ask about sleeping lol, i slept sat up for the first 2 weeks or so (not too bad if youve got loads of pillow and a V pillow), ended up further down the bed and sleeping on my back around 2 weeks PO. Im sleeping on my side now 🙂
i had overs, i didnt have any pain but the tightness and heaviness subsided after about 10 days. i feel completely back to normal now 🙂

Hey huni there’s really a set time for showers everyone’s different my 1st op was about 3/4weeks top this 3rd round it’s been just under 1 1/2 weeks so it’s all on how u heel but that shouldn’t stop u having half baths or showers xx

I prob won’t fancy a drink tbf but good to know that 1 or 2 won’t hurt! I’m so hoping I can have a shower as soon as but I have plenty of dry shampoo and am booked in for a blow dry on Christmas Eve so at least my hair will be ok haha!
I’m not too fussed about driving til after new year as hubby is off and he can drive everywhere!
That’s good your sleeping on your side already….that worried me coz I can’t sleep on my back!! Always on my side!
My op is 16th December but I’ve not told my family and we do a huge get together on Xmas day and I’m so hoping I won’t be in pain so it’s not so obvious!!! Thanks girls 🙂 xxx
