Post-op showering

Hi all, i got the all clear to shower at 2 weeks post op. I was terrified of having my first shower because i actually thought it would hurt getting any water on my incision. I’ve had three showers so far and i’m just not feeling super comfortable with it. I am so worried about getting too much water on my incisions and i really don’t like bending down or over to shave. I’m literally having to have quick showers for my hair and then half baths for the shaving.

Is anyone else struggling a little with this? or am i just being weird and need to get over it? lol

Hi Hun I was aloud to shower one week post op well 8 days! I have a shallow bath to shave then have a shower rather then bending Al over! I was my hair and lean back a bit as conscious of getting my boobs soaked!! But I do run some water on them! I them dab them dry but I still use Sanex 0%! Hope this helps! Doesn’t matter if shampoo goes on them but make sure you clear with clean water xxz

Hi girls, how did you both keep clean before you could shower? I’m back to work 6 days post op so really need the closest thing to a shower I can have! Xxxx

@alicelucy21 I did shallow baths once my arms were strong enough to pull me out. I used baby wipes and cleansing wipes on my top half…avoided the incision area obviously. I also had my boyfriend washing my hair for the first week, he was surprisingly good for someone who’d never done it before lol. x

@destijl thank you honey I’ll buy some. I think I’ll have to train my boyfriend up in advance to avoid any disasters haha! Xxx

I’ve been showering as normal from 8 days post op girls. Been running water over them and everything. I’m 3 weeks post op now and I feel great. Incisions have almost disappeared. Take a look at my pics on my profile xx

Hey I’m 2 weeks post op! And I was exactly the same as you! But it gets easier! I just have a shallow bath to shave my legs and shower with sanex 0% and hibiscub (antibacterial shower gel) and went I get out the shower I gently wipe with an antibacterial wipe! I wouldn’t wash my hair in the shower though, all the shampoo/conditioner running into my incisions I don’t think that, but that’s just me lol! I lean over the bath to do that x
