Post Opp, Hours after

Hey girls, just wondering if you have had a tight chest after surgery? Im really sore, and my chest is really tight. The nurse said its normal before discharging me but I’m just curious how long this lasts? It is worse when I try to get up and use the toilet xx

I still have it and I had my op last Thursday hun, feel like I can’t take a deep breath in!! I struggled to walk to the toilet, was all over the place couldn’t walk in a straight line! Happy healing hun xx

Body’s been put through a lot so it’s probably all of the trauma & GA still in your system,… Also the new boobies weighing your chest down haha!! My recoverys been okay, not great lol been so sore & uncomfy!! right boob has been okay it’s dropping slightly, but left one is still so sore & swollen! Can’t wait to just feel normal again lol, get the strapping off on weds evening so hoping that will free them up a bit lol. Who did your surgery today! How exciting!!! It’s such a weird feeling once it’s all done isn’t it! Xxx

Have it just my bandages and support bra on.. However in too much pain to have a good look at them at the moment lol.. Glad your on the mend! 🙂 .. I’ve had it at Preston with Mr Monuir, what about you? Yeah it’s certainly an experience haha xxx

Hey rosie I had mine today and was exactly the same!! I thought something was wrong, I had mine at 1pm and it’s a lot better already. What time did you have yours? Xx

At 10am, still in a lot of pain when going to the toilet and getting up, but not so bad when I’m in bed. Glad your on the mend ☺️ Xx

@rosiex hey Rosie! I had exactly the same almost felt like very bad integestion it only last about 4 days after I got strapping of it was gone, don’t be worried about it it’s normal the first week is worst but will get better it will all be worth it 🙂 you may also get twinges as well which are also normal! XXXX 🙂 happy healing

Hi honey! 🙂 I had my op yesterday morning and this tightness developed during the day as the drugs wear off in your system! I managed to get about 6/7 hours sleep which I didn’t expect at all, the V pillow is a life saver get one if you haven’t already! 🙂 the pain is worse today feels like if I take a deep breath my strapping will pop open! Lol and my right is much more swollen than my left but it’s normal! Happy healing! Will all be worth it in the end! 🙂 xxx

Hey rosie yes I feel like I am ok when I am in bed but then it kicks in when I move. As for the toilet omg what an effort ??. Jessica I was hoping to be feeling a bit better tomorrow doubt it though if you are more pain today – hopefully it settles tomorrow for you. Anyway who cares about the pain we all have our new additions ?? I’d do it all again!! Xx

Hiya Jess, thanks for your advice. I have a V pillow which is a life saver, 8.09 from Argos, best thing I’ve bought ? My boobs seem to be getting bigger, Is that the swelling? I hope I manage to get some sleep. It shall all be worth it, hope you get another decent kip and tomorrow’s a little easier for you! ☺️Xxx

Hey ladies, how you both feeling today? 🙂 the pain has gone down a lot today for me, I’ve been for a check up this morning as my right boob seemed very swollen and solid but he has reassured me it’s just a deep bruise which is a relief! ? I’m just taking ibuprofen for the pain and that’s working fine for me, I know some ladies take cocodamol but I really don’t want to! Just got to keep telling yourself it’ll all be worth it in the end! ☺️☺️ Xxxx

Oh I’m glad it’s nothing serious and your feeling better ☺️, I’ve been quite lucky for bruising but in a lot of pain today. I’m taking ibuprofen and co cocodamal and they don’t seem to be working as much as I’d like them too, however I’m nice and comfy in bed with nice food and films so it’s all good? Xxxx

Me too! ☺️ Awww glad you’re comfy in bed, so am I haha! Make sure you keep mobile though, just having a 5 minute walk every hour or so, it stops the muscles being so tense! I didn’t feel like doing it at all but you need to! ☺️ Hope the meds start and work for you! Xxxx

Hi ladies, hope you don’t mind me jumping in on your conversation. Not even sure if I’m doing it properly as never been on this forum until today. I had my surgery on Sunday & I’m really sore, particularly in my right breast. Can’t take a breath without it hurting. Have loosened my breast band (I had unders) which has helped a bit but still hugely painful. I’m only 2 days post op so hoping it’s early days, but can’t help having a worry!!!xx

I had 350cc unders Kel .. & I think it’s normal Jen, the girls have been telling me it can last up to a week. Some quicker than others. Keep up with the pain killers and just rest xxx

Sorry girls only just seen these messages. I don’t seem to get any notifications so had to find the conversation and see f anyone had replied!! I’ve spoken to the nurse a couple of times & she says it sounds normal. Had a few good cries with the pain though-and crying hurts too!! I must say today (end of day three post op) my movement has improved a little & dare I say it the pain has eased a little though I’m still walking like a 90 year old! Got my post op Friday. I had 300 unders. Hope it’s worth it & hope you’re all feeling a bit better. Is there any way to get notifications as to when people respond? I hate being ignorant!xx

Everyone I know who’s had it done had this it’s normal because you’re swollen and skin is tight and swelling should go down an awful lot in the next 2-3 days. I’ve had 2 BAs now I had my revision surgery yesterday and haven’t experienced it myself! I’m not too sure why. Hope you’re well otherwise! Xx

Morning girls! I had my BA at 7 last night so woke up and I am incredibly tight and feel a little uncomfortable but not too bad at the moment. All I have on is a binder strap and been told to leave it for a week until my check up appointment. Struggled to get out of bed this morning but managed for a wee and can’t wait to be discharged at 9 and get home to rest. Hope you all are having a better day today x

Just keep on top of your pain control Jemma, hopefully it won’t be as painful for you. Sitting up is a killer. I had to syke myself up each time I needed the loo!!! I’m now officially day 4 post op & whilst my right boob is still very sore & tight and feels very tender to touch, the overall pain is settling a bit. Hope these boobies are worth it! Did you have under or over muscle? It’s the bruising the next day that kills isn’t it, and obviously your anesthetic will have worn off but it gets easier a lot quicker than you think. I couldn’t even flush the toilet last time! ? And what size have you had? Are you happy with them so far?xxx

I’ve had unders size 300cc. Gone from a 32A up to whatever they turn out like! Still heavily strapped so no idea what they’re like yet. Yes flushing the toilet was a challenge. And I couldn’t reach the window to shut it or even press the toaster down! Think I was naive about how sore I’d be but definitely feeling better today 🙂 nice to have people to speak to on here xx

Morning ladies, well it’s day 3 now and I must say I am feeling so much better ? still sore and tender also the pain seems to switch from the left to the right and under my arm is sore too. I am now just taking the ibuprofen and paracetamol because the co-codamol was making me so bloated. I slept most of the day yesterday but going to get my hair washed and blown this afternoon – hoping it makes me feel more human!! How is everybody else feeling? Jemma it’s so nice when you get home to your own bed bet you can’t wait xx

Morning ladies, day 3 for me too and it’s one of the worst. I sat outside yesterday with my family for a few hours in the sun, and feel like I may of done a bit too much too soon. So bed all day for me today!
The tightness has calmed down a lot, but I’m in pain with my right boob/under the arm, more so than my left. It feels very tender when I touch it, I’m little worried about that but the girls are telling me it’s normal. Apart from all that I feel better in myself.. Enjoy your wash and blow dry Claire, lucky you! My hair is stuck to my head? xxx

I’m sore under my right arm too Rosie & right deep inside the boob. As for my hair, it has not seen a brush or shampoo since Sunday morning. I look disgusting! I’m going to try a shallow bath today if I can get in safely & am going to ask my mum if she can try & wash my greasy locks without getting my wounds wet. Just not sure how comfortable I’ll be getting into position. Might actually see if a hairdresser down the road can do it. Oh the simplest tasks! Can’t wait until we can look back on these days & laugh about them!!!xx

Aww! My first op Nov 2015 were 400cc unders HP and I was 32A! But this time I’ve had overs and 500cc and it’s much less painful!! Unders is honestly so much worse I feel for you! But it really doesn’t take long before you’ll be back to your usual self 🙂 I remember around day 3 I was crying thinking il be in agony for months and every day after that got easier ? Xxx

Rosie, Jen that is how I was yesterday quite a lot of burning feeling in my left. I felt quite down yesterday and so tired but I think the sleeping most of the day done me the world of good. I had a shallow bath and was back asleep by 10.30pm. Try to do nothing all day and I really hope you are both feeling a bit better tomorrow. Rosie if you are still worried contact the nurse and Jen I actually can not wait till the day we laugh at all of this whilst in a bikini ?? xx

Oo a shallow bath sounds lovely!! I just don’t think I’ll be able to get out of it, ha ha.. Yeah I’m going to try and sleep, then see how it is later. I can’t wait for the bikini days, no more hunting everywhere for a padded one! Woohoo!?? xxx

I went from 32 b and has 335cc unders. I feel so tender and my nipples are rock hard, it’s bizarre. I’ve been taken 2 cocodamol since 6 followed by an ibuprofen an hour later then repeat in 2 hours time. Rosie how are you managing with the V pillow? I’ve got one and just hoping it won’t let me slip during the night. Claire a blow dry sounds such a good idea, I’ve already dragged my mum into help me wash my hair but don’t know how long that will last. What day has been the worst for you girls? x

Day 3 was crap for me. I’m day 4 now. I was an emotional wreck yesterday. Feel a bit brighter (but tired) today. General pain is reduced except this stupid right boob. Just doesn’t seem to be improving at all. Just hoping that tomorrow when the strapping is removed it starts to pick up from there. It’s so sore to touch, breathe, move. Keep wondering what was wrong with my little
Mosquito bites but know when I fill a bikini for the first time, I’ll have no regrets! We can do this ladies. Xx

Jen are you strapped up completely or? And thanks Rosie I made sure I had an extra 2 pillows on the bed before I left to come home too. Did any of you have to wear these compression socks? I’ve got to wear mine for minimum 3 days x

I’m completely strapped up yes so have no idea what’s going on underneath. Got a breast band on too. My right boob is really giving me jip today. Thought day 4 would be even better but seems not 🙁 Yes add me no probs. I’m rubbish at all this so don’t even know how you do it! I had the red stockings on for a couple of days. It’s important to wear them to prevent DVTs so only take them off as instructed. The v pillow is a must. I’ve got about 4 other pillows too but last nigh could just not get comfy until 1am! Hoping tonight is better. It’s so nice to have people to talk to just to recognise it’s all normal & the pain is nothing to panic about although i could happily saw my right boob off right now!xx

Hey @ROSIE hope your ok! I have Mouinr in Preston 5 weeks am so glad you said you have bandgers no strapping! ? did you need drains I don’t think he uses them… Hope not can’t wait for mine bet your so happy with them xxx

Hey Lyndsey, I’m getting there thankyou. Bet you are so excited! Nope no strappings, just the plasters on the incisions and a support bra on☺️ I did have a drain in, however it wasn’t too much of a bother. I asked for some numbing cream which the nurse put on for me and I didn’t really feel a thing. xxx

Ohh fab @ROSIE can’t wait! ? just hate the thought of them drains but as you said you was fine just hope I am haha. Has he done a good job are you dead happy with them upto now xxx

Yeah the thought makes me sick but honestly it wasn’t that bad at all. I’d recommend the numbing cream and not looking when they do it haha.. and yes, I am over the moon however just waiting for them to change. They’re a bit like comes at the moment, hard ones stuck on me ? I had 350cc under the muscle and they seem to be getting a lot fuller on top which is what I wanted. He is very good at listening to what you want, so don’t worry ? Xxx

Just woken up from a nap and of my, my right boob is so painful underneath, stocked up on more cocodomol so hoping it eases off. I completely agree Jen, this forum is a life saver to discuss everything with other ladies who are going through the exact same experience x

Hi ladies, are any of you experiencing sickness? I’ve been sick a lot today and not sure if it’s the first time of anaesthetic and I’m having a bad reaction or the cocodamol, any help would be good x
