Just before the operation, how are you put to sleep? The idea of having the breath in gas is freaking me out so I’m worried I’ll have a panic attack and wake up half way through or something! Do you get a choice? Xx

They inject your with general anesthetic through a canular…unless you’re having local in which case I have no idea x

They injected me with painkiller thru canular in hand and then inject the anaesthetic through canular.

I got general anaesthetic. Made me feel light headed when injected and then slowly drifted into sleep…that’s how I remember it anyway. Sorry not sure about the other one (local).

I had the same canular etc x but they do give you a bit of gas at Preston to help you along it’s only a minute though then you r asleep xx
