Pre- op guidelines

Hi girls, wonder if any of you can help me? When i went for my pre-op the nurse told me to stop taking any products such as Herbalife and multivitamins 2 weeks before my op, has anyone ever been told this before? If so do you know why? As i feel if i stop taking what im used to i will get ill and then be ill for my op! This worries me haha! Sounds so silly but want to ensure i am doing everything correctly

I got told to stop taking everything 4 weeks before till 2 weeks after as I’m on the pill and no fake tan nails or sun beds aloud completely natural like the day u was born apparently I’m guessing it’s so they don’t risk anything going wrong xx

I was told to stop taking the pill and not use anything on my skin. I know that the pill thins your blood which doesn’t help with healing the incision. Like Sophie said they want everything to be natural to avoid any problems with your blood and skin etc. xx

Thanks girls, just thought it was strange how we couldn’t take multivitamins ha! But suppose they want to be extra careful I suppose. Wonder if it’s the same with like paracetamols and things? Or antibiotics xx

I know you’re not allowed to take ibuprofen, aspirin, nurofen etc (basically any of the good ones) leading up to the op as they thin your blood which will cause excessive bleeding during the op. Your fine to take paracetamol though. And I’m not sure about the antibiotics, I’m guessing they wouldn’t operate if we had an infection though xxx
