So when I was at my pre-op appointment the nurse tried to take my bloods twice but couldn’t do it? She told me I’d have to come back for another nurse to take my bloods so booked me in for a Saturday a week later. Firstly, I was confused at how she was struggling. I’m a regular blood donor and never has anyone struggled to draw blood from me?! Honestly in my left arm I have a vein that is absolutely massive and sticks out loads! So I was annoyed anyway because I’d had to take half a days holiday at work for that. Then when I turned up yesterday for my appointment the receptionist said the nurse had just not turned up so they’d had to cancel everyone and she apologised cos apparently I wasn’t even in the diary at all otherwise she would of rang me to tell me? So now I’m having to make a third trip to the clinic just for my pre op which should have only taken one!
Has anyone else had problems like this with their nurses appointments? I’m starting to worry about the aftercare now as it doesn’t look good when the nurse just doesn’t turn up, surely they should be a nurse on stand by? I’d have hated it if that was my first post op appointment!
