Dressing gown, a. Bra, slippers, a easy put on top, an iPad/kindle that’s to

    Menu

Take snacky food in case your hungry after your op, throat sweets, baby wipes, charges for phones/laptops, magazines, etc… They provide a dressing gown, but I took my own for comfort, slippers – to walk to theatre in,
If your other half is there there’s a tv in the room, and lots of waiting around to be done, my other half went for lunch at a pub just on garstang rd, while I had my op, as he was very bored (my first op he didn’t dare leave for hours as I was so badly, he just read his kindle) xx

Thanks everyone I’m writing a list as we speak haha. Do they give u anything after? Like pain relief or antibiotics or do u just get them to go home with?

    Menu

They give you them through your cannula, then some to take home with too xx

    Menu

Yes make sure ur other half brings food cuz they only provide tea and coffee and theres alot of waitin to do! Theres a mcdonalds inside asda not far away if this helps 🙂 just take comfy clothes and magazines and u shud be fine, good luck xx

@megan the M&S zip up front sports bras are good but are very tight, I only wore my ones for a couple of days then move onto sports bras with not so thick material x

Are you day cases? If so, depending on your admission time you may not have that long of a wait. My admission time was 8am, was back from theatre at 11am and was allowed to go home at 2.30pm, so there really wasn’t much waiting.
All I took was my slippers, sports bra and comfy loose clothes for coming home in, oh and a pillow for the car. Also took a book and my tablet but never got to use them as didn’t have time 🙂
Good luck girls, First Trust is a lovely hospital with lovely staff xx

Well I was sick after my first BA due to the anaesthetic so I mentioned this to the anaesthetist and e have me some medicine through the cannula before I was put under that he said would help, and it did, I felt great after so I think depending on how you feel depends on when you can leave. Also, the nurse said that you have to stay a minimum of 3 hours after you come back from theatre x

I’m overnight but my mums staying at the ibis, she doesn’t drive ladies is there anything close by for her to go eat n chill out, my op is going to roughly be 2-3 hours ( im quite tricky apparently) & how far away is the ibis from hospital? Xx

    Menu

I’m the same as nicki. first op was very bad, second I was home without argument
ibis is literally a two minute drive five walk from first trust, and there’s a nice gastro pub less then five minute drive away, I stated at ibis first op, and went hone (40 min drive away) second time, both Times by oh went to the pub for food as Preston don’t provide fir relatives
the staff are amazing, and remembered me nine months on, I can’ t fault them xxx
