Hi girls, had my strapping off on Saturday and it left me with really sore patches. In particular I have this patch which is just under my armpit. I had to change my sports bra because the other was rubbing on it. Even this one I have to pull doem with a hair grip. I’ve had savlon and a dressing on it but my nan thinks I need to let it air and dry or it’ll never heal! What do you think? It’s causing me so much pain as I can’t put my arm down!! 🙁 xx
oh gosh chick that looks so sore! i don’t know whether it will work but i had bad patches of dermatitis before now and i used a cream called cetraben which was only a few pounds from Asda! not entirely sure if you can use it on sores but it is worth checking as it worked wonders for me! xxxx
thank you @charlie17 it is giving me hell on earth! i am gonna call the nurse tomorrow and see what she suggests. thank you though xx
@peachysunshinee was this just from your strapping? i’m dreading having it on it seems soooo uncomfortable! maybe you should air it out and let it dry up and then it will start healing! Xxx
This might sound really silly but when babies have sore bums or the nappy rubs and they get sores that look like this I use metanium cream and the day after i use it it’s almost gone.. I’ve used it on my self once when I got a sore under my boob where the underwire rubbed and it really helped x
@charlie17 yep just from the strapping!
i have left it the air now but as its under my armpit my arm has to stay up all the time! got it in the air resting on a pillow haha
to be honest when the strapping was on it wasnt so bad, i didnt feel too restricted, it was manageable. and now this!! 🙁 xx
Omg that looks so sore bless you!!
Id try and let it air, dry it out a little!
Xxx
thanks @kimbarweee ! will do it all tonight as best i can and fingers crossed by morning its at least less red xx
Trust me it works wonders.. Just make sure you get the yellow one not the White. The White. One is just a barrier cream but the yellow is medicated it’s basically like sudacrem but 100 times better and works quicker x
I’d give Bepanthen nappy cream a go. Looks really sore you poor thing xx
@peachysunshinee all pharmacies and tesco and asda sell it so I’d go and get some so it can be working overnight! X
hi, I had the same problem …dab area with cotton wool and salty water and pat dry then use sudacrem x
@peachysunshinee I’ve seen loads of girls reccomend the savlon dry spray plaster, keeps it protected but not smothered. Looks so sore bless you! I had one but my nurse just out a dressing on it and it was scabby over when I took it off 3 days later. Hope it gets better xxx
Oh bless you! It looks so painful! Hope it heals soon xxx
Ahh looks so sore! Hope it heals quickly. Would defo try the nappy rash creams the girls have mentioned as they always heal sores quickly xx
Bepanthen! That’s what I use on my tattoos and they heal so quickly! X
Ouch 🙁 that look so sore! I think I agree with your nan, sometimes wounds need to dry out in order to get better. The skin forms a scab on purpose as a way of protecting itself and allowing the skin underneath to start the healing process. Air dry may be the answer xx
P.s please don’t put ANY creams or ointments on without seeing your GP babe. They can do more damage than good if it’s has an irritant in it, especially on an open wound with no scab. See a doctor preferably 🙂 xx
Thank you @jessicamessenger
I’ve had the savlon and dressing on it for a few days and obviously keeping it wet isn’t letting it heal so I’m definitely gonna leave it to air. I won’t put anything else on it before I see a pharmacist or doctor either. I can’t really leave the house as clothes irritate it! Xx
Bless you 🙁 you’ll have to wear something light, just until you can get seen and at least they can advise the best treatment for it! I’ve made this error in the past that’s the only reason I’m saying it. I was advised by a nurse to put sudacream on a sore on my sons face, it basically inflamed it and made it spread/10 times worse!! Turned out when I went back to see a GP it was actually impetigo and it required a specific steroid cream. Obviously this isn’t that, but sometimes you think your helping and your not! hope you get something to treat it tomorrow babe <3 hopefully a steroid cream xxxx
I had a patch like that and it kept sticking to my bra it was so sore. I put sudocream on it and let the air get to it. Hope it’s better soon x
Lucy I had this. I got some sterile dressings and used bepanthen nappy rash cream cleared up within a day xxx
