REALLY WORRIES ABOUT PRE OP

Need advice I have read on here about the nurses been strict on health assessment I don’t think I have any health risks I have never been on anti depressants or anything but I did see a doctor last year for feeling down due to relationship breakdown but it was only 1 appointment and never got given anti depressants or anything never had to go back .bit worried I may be enemic but that’s about it could anyone give me advice or reassure me I will be ok and what the nurse is like and when do u find out if the nurse has given it the all ok for surgery

I had my pre op today and they basicly go over the same health questions u go thru at your consultation, height and weight checked , blood pressure, mrsa swabs, take photos and that’s about it ? xx

I never had a health assessment at my consultation apart from a form I filled out about my health in the past . I’m worried I will be enemic . Do they take your blood x

They take blood from some and not from others. I had to get mine taken but not even sure why? Your probably panicking a bit more because of the ops being cancelled lately Hun I’m sure you will be fine to get the go ahead hopefully xx

Hi Gemma are your irons usually low aswell ? I’m worried about this cos I’m usually anemic which I didn’t even know about till my pregnancy years ago with my little girl so I’m hoping when I have my pre op next week I’ll be fine
Only thing that’s worrying me is the MRSA swab and how so many girls lately are getting cancelled on last min! X

I have always been anemic when pregnant that’s why I worry a lot and I keep seeing everyone getting there ops cancelled I don’t understand why they book an op for them to then cancel x

That’s like me when I’m pregnant I have anemia this is why I’m trying not to worry cos I went doctors 2 wks ago he told me I could have some blood tests to check but also if under my finger nails are White apprently that’s classed as low iron same with inside of your eyes on the pink bit but he said I was fine that’s why I’m finkin I must only be anemic wen I’m pregnant it’s common in a lot of girls I’ve just changed my diet abit an eat healthier foods that contain iron to help me out abit

I don’t think it matters if ur anemic I think thats just when they will take blood tests at pre op in case if u r xx

I thought seeing the nurse was a pre op

I didn’t have bloods taken as not anaemia , I was anaemia after I had my girl in 2011 and cos itvwas years ago I didn’t need blood tests, they just go off what u tell them they only do blood tests if use had recent anaemia , xx
