Hi girls.
Im 1week post op, up until yesterday I didn’t leave the house, I have completely rested for the last 6days. Yesterday and today I have been out for a few hours and both days have felt so tired and drained. I don’t feel right in myself at all. Did/does anyone else feel like this?
I saw the nurse for my 1wk check today and she says that I’m healing well and there is no sign of infection.
I’m also so sensitive to the cold at the moment which is causing me to tense up so that’s not helping my chest muscles.
So far my recovery has been very bearable. Aches and discomfort but no pain, I’ve been pleasantly surprised but I just can’t deal with this lethargy. I’m back to work on 23rd so I really hope I’m feeling better by then.
Any words of advice/comfort would be really appreciated. think my fiancé thinks I’m being a hypochondriac…
xx
Hi Hun I had a pretty easy recovery but I was the same for a few weeks after my op I felt completely drained and tired never felt anything like it I also I didn’t have much pain just achy and my boobs where sensitive to the cold also lol I just slept when I could as I couldn’t get threw the days other wise my youngest was 18 months and when he had a nap I did two lol if u can just sleep when I can I think I felt a lot better by three weeks post op xxx
Hi Hun
I’m 1 week post op tomorrow and I’m feeling exactly the same. If I’m just relaxing at home I tend to nap quite a bit I get a bit out of breath if I walk quite a bit too, not quite sure if this is good or if anyone else has experienced it maybe my body isn’t use to me being so top heavy now. I’m seeing the nurse tomorrow for my one week check so I’ll deffo be asking. I’m guessing it just takes time for us to get back to our normal selves in dreading going back to work on Monday xxx
Thank you both for your replies.
All along it wasn’t the pain I should have worried about it was this tiredness.
I’ve honestly felt nothing like this before. I’m going out today for a few hours so I think I’ll just do that everyday this week to start building myself back up again, then hopefully by next week I’ll feel ready for work!
@skimber93 I’m finding that I can’t breathe as well after walking for a while either. I hope your appointment goes well today 🙂
@staceymlx how long did it take to stop feeling like you had rocks on your chest and actually feel like your boobs?? Lol xx
My boobs didn’t feel like my own till about 12-13 weeks post op I mean they didn’t feel rock hard but definitely didn’t feel like my boobs till them lol felt like someone had stuck these balls on my chest haha xxx
I’m 4dpo and deffo know what you’re talking about I’m like an old person and keep napping. Just think our body has gone through a lot so it’s just taking time to heal and adjust. Also are you still taking pain medication as that could be contributing to the tiredness? I feel like such a hermit crab I went to the shop with my partner and kids last night and I was like wow humans hello aha x
Hi.I have probably been doing too much but couldn’t just sit in.Now 9 days post op. Saturday,we were in town and sunday went for a walk and a coffee. The only real pain is getting out of bed when I have a shooting pain in my right breast. I feel quite normal now accept like it’s having rocks on my chest.xx
I’m po day 9 now and I feel the same. I’m not in pain, I’ve had overs, but I’m exhausted, bloated and in a low mood. I’ve got an 8 month old as well so I’m really struggling :’( xx
I think the general anaesthetic really takes it out of you- just go steady, rest as much as you can and take your time. X
Thank you for your replies 🙂
I’ve pretty much been off my pain meds for a few days now.. had the odd paracetamol over the past few days but that’s all. I’ve been out and about today and managed a lot better. I’m going out for a couple of hours this evening too so hopefully I’ll manage to stay awake haha.
I agree that our bodies have been through trauma and its focusing on healing. I just can’t wait to feel 100% again!
I’m also looking forward to when these feel like my boobs.. Very odd carrying these around on my chest haha.
Xx
