I’m due to have my op on the 29th of September, I’m having 245cc under the muscle. I’m supposed to be having my mother in law come and stay for the 6 weeks during my recovery but the passed 2/3 weeks she’s been an absolute pain and I’m in to minds weather or not to even have her here. She’s very controlling but is the only person that doesn’t work that’s able to help out with the children, children are 7 and 2. My 7 year old will be fine as she will be at school then my partner will get her from school and come home it’s just more carring for my 2 year old. Is recovery really that bad or am I better having her here? Xxx

I had dual plane and I had no one to help me through the day luckily my boyfriend helped me out of bed before he went to work on the mornings and made sure all doors were open ect , I went back to work after a week , as you have a 2 year old I defo think you will need help the first couple of weeks I couldn’t even flush the chain ! Or pull my nickers up , it’s mad Cos you don’t realise how much you use your breast muscles for literally EVERYTHING xxx

I have a 2 and 7 year old and I definitely advise you have help for the first week. I had my mum stay for 5 days and 2 year old was in nursery. I am now post 17 days and still struggle with the 2 year old so my hubby has to do allot. I did go back to work after 6 days but I was able to sit in the office. Good luck

I have a 3 year old and 1 year old
My husband had a week off work and then went back to work.
I had under the muscle. you will definitely need help for a week at least. you won’t need her for the whole 6 weeks. I’m 10 days post op now and still in a fair bit of pain now and then but can just about cope with my two. although can’t lift my 1 year old into her cot or buggy etc

I’m 3 weeks po tomorrow and although I don’t think my recovery was as bad as others, I agree you will need help for at least a week! To help with recovery: a travel pillow to help sleeping upright, button up shirts/dresses, dry shampoo, leave nothing that you will need in a high up cupboard!

@emilyjaynekirby26 personally I am super independant & can’t handle my mother in law in larger doses so I’d tell her at most 1 week then bug off he he he

Haha that’s exactly how I’m feeling Zoe! My partners gonna take the first week of I have my surgery on the Saturday so the first 7 days after surgery will be covered im just gonna see how I feel on the Monday as my sister should be coming over then so I’ll be 8 days then fingers cross me and littlen can just Bing watch tv all day, at least then if I do have to have my “monster in law” over it’s 4 days rather then 5. My littlen does have nursery Wednesday mornings but I’m gonna have to walk to get my oldest from school Wednesday Thursdays and Fridays anyway as my partner has to get his other daughter from school on those days but he will be taken littlen with him. I just can’t stand her at the minute and she’s currently playing my partner and his ex of one another and I don’t fancy being in the middle of all that haha.
