    Hi
I’ve just been for a consultation today and although I’m excited I’m really not sure how it will be possible to have a BA, the lady told me I cant lift anything or drive for a week. I have 2 kids under 3 and my 1yr old needs lifting into highchair, nappy changer and cuddles etc 1000 times a day. My hubby can only take 1 day off max apart from the weekend and don’t have any other help….how did anyone else cope? x

hi ive got the exact same problen (almost) ive got an almost two year old and ann almost three year old and hubby can only have 2 days off , but im just weighing up pros and cons , its never going to be a good time when you have small children is itive spoken to my pc and she said i will be at my worst the day following surgery so thats the day im getting him to take off work x the highchairs i have can be taken off the stand so theyre nearer the floor and my little girls using the potty now so thats good but as for changing my boy im going to do it on the floor x mine are both walking so thats good for me as i dont have to lift too much x but its different for each person i suppose x i just look at it like this , if i dont do this now then my eldest will be at school before i know it and thats going to be impossible to do if i cant drive so i just think for me im going to do it and just try my best to prepare my home so that its as easy as possible to get the kids around without straining too much x and remember its only a week x:) hopefully somebody else has already been through this and can give us both advice lol xx good luck xx

I just had ba and I got 2 little ones, one is 7months and a 3 year old, my partner back to work Monday that will be 6days after my op. I’m just gonna grit my teeth and bare it. He doesn’t drive either so I’ll have to drive him to work, I haven’t got any family willing to help tho 🙁 xx

This whole driving thing and lifting the kids has me confused! I spoke to my PC and she was saying ‘oh in a week you can drive and lift your 18month old’ so I booked there and then. When I saw the nurse a few days later she said ‘2 weeks before you can drive and 6 weeks before lifting the little one’ I was fuming that they had conflicting info!!! I went ahead and had the surgery done and at the moment it’s not to bad. I have a 3 year old and 18month old. Just hoping I feel ok to drive soon!! X

@sarah.. so weird. i’m getting same size boobs were both called sarah our babies are the same age too lool. luckily wew will be staying with my mum when she breaks up from school. so i will be well looked after as will my kiddies. my partner will be celebrating his bday abroad. its really unfortunate for some that cant get support :(. but i guess it may also depend on the type of procedure you get because under the muscle is suppose to be alot more painful and longer healing process. we just have not cuddle our littlens for a few wk 🙁 n get chauffeured about ha xx

I have got 3 children + I am 11 days post op. My hubby took 9 days off with me + has gone back to work today, as they are desperately short staffed. I found days 3 + 4 were the worst for me. I also got told no driving for 2 weeks + no heavy lifting or exercise for 6 weeks. Just listen to your body + don’t over do it x x x

Lol Sarah i know so cool 🙂 my PC and nurse told me different aswell!! Some people have hectic lives and can’t change that so just get as much rest as u can when you can 🙂 this is all so important to us so we shouldn’t have to put it in hold! You can find a way 🙂 xxx

Im nervous as ive got a 6 month old girl and although ive got a friend staying with me for 2 weeks to lift her for me im still worried about it:) I am having overs though so recovery is quicker luckily. They say if you haveeee to lift them then doing it the correct way helps (using the right muscles not just arms and chest) x

Hi girls, my friend had her ba when her son was under 1, she just fed him on the floor, changed him on the floor etc and me or her sister would go over to help with bathtime and lifting him into his cot. She was ok to do it herself after a week tho! X

It is ridiculous that apart from the cost the only thing that would stop me is childcare! Story of my life ha ha, my hubby just couldn’t take the time off and although I do have some support 1. I’m not telling many I’m having this done and 2. Its more if they fall over in the day, climb up the stair etc they will need lifting. They are 2 crackers boys and I know I wont be able to rest for a second! Wish I cud ship them off somewhere ha! x

Know that feeling Bridey! I have a 2 & 4 yr old and the chance of rest is going to be minimal! My hubby is only taking 1 day off work (surgery day). The next day ill be on my own and kids going to mother in law, day 3 my friends coming over to help with kids, day 4 with mother in law and day 5 my mums coming up. Day 6 & 7 hubby will be home as wkend. I know that in theory this sounds fine but I can imagine the reality will mean I still won’t get much rest. Mums don’t get sick days… Especially not sick weeks!!
