hi girls,
how long did people research until they went ahead with there surgery?
I did zero research…decided about 2-3 months ago one Sunday, booked consultation on the Monday booked the surgery date for less than 2 months after that was happy with everything so went ahead
Joined this forum afterwards to help me post op :))
I think it’s great to do research but don’t get too boggled down with it as at the end of the day if you know what look you want the surgeon is the best person to consult and give his opinion on 🙂 xx
Hi Amber I have been researching for a few months to make sure I make the right choice. I haven’t yet booked but the advice you get from others who have already had it done is just as valuable I think as the surgeons as it gives a reality check. I’m just making my mind up on size then will be booking over next couple of months :0)
A good few months, BA’s or more so the up keep of your result from your BA is pretty complex, there are also several complications your Dr won’t go in to detail about as to not scare you off the idea so doing your own research is imperative.
IT’s important to know that plastic surgeons are BUSINESS MEN before anything, plastic surgery is elective, not a medical necessity so whilst they are in fact Doctors your well being is not always their first concern. There are many surgerouns who will offer you what is easiest for them and also what ever means you will need to return for a re do sooner rather than later as it all adds up to more ££ so it is very important to have an idea of what is best you and your body rather than just blnly going along with what your Dr suggests, there are a fair amount of cowboys around, even those with amazing reps so you need to be careful. You also need to be aware implants are not lifetime devices, you will need a re-do and likely a lift in 10-15 years, if you don’t support your breasts properly you will be looking at around a 7 year life. I have what is considered a large implant, I also have overs so my breasts require a certain amount of looking after for me to get 10 years out of them, proper fitted, supportive bras from sepcialist stores, wearing a sports bra as much as possible and always to sleep, wearing push ups as little as possible and using a kush/rolled up sock between the cleavage to sleep are part of whats needed. There will also be things that will help post op that you will find from looking in to things. Personally I can’t imagine letting someone tear my chest up having done no research! x
I did research for around almost 2 years before my surgery for breast augmentation not only is this a foreign object going inside your body it is also the TRuSt that you must Give to that one surgeon. You must be 100% sure that you want to have this procedure and same goes to any other plastic surgery you opt out for, it must be for you only and not to please anyone else, you must be aware of the pros and cons and what is normal and what isn’t. you must understand that not even plastic surgery has guarantees and you still may not be happy after. Everyone’s body is not the same so one may have the perfect. Rounded look but you can choose exactly the same and not have anythin at all close to that look. I did research from implants, to hospital to company to surgeon to even exactly what I wanted the type of look, fullness, and also though why I want this surgery, if I would be able to have the finances for re op in many Years touchwood down the line. These are the things you should research and most importantly having you and the surgeon understand exactly what YOU want… Without research I truely and personally believe is to get the best results like with exams and A levels etc without homework no pass x
