research- 32a/b wanting to go to nice full 32c- when could I return to work?

Hi guys, am just in the first stages of doing BA research and have my consultation next Tues.

I am 21, 5.7”, very small boned size 6-8 but with a bigger bum and I have been a size 32a/32b in Victoria’s Secret, pretty much since hitting puberty. All the women in my family are skinny but pretty busty so I hoped they’d grow but I’ve pretty much given up now. I just want to be a nice full looking C-cup with some cleavage as even push ups don’t give me the ‘full look’ and Ive given up on ever feeling comfortable at the beach in a bikini or wearing a low-cut top or dress. I’ve made up my mind that a BA will be a big positive step in my life.

The one thing biting me is the recovery period. I am in my final year at uni but I work weekends and I am worried about how much time i’ll be able to take off. Adding to this, I’m moving to Asia for a grad job in October and want to get my boobs done & have them recover in time, but I don’t even know if this will be feasible and could end my BA journey. Can anyone who’s gone to a similar size tell me about your experience with getting back to work and how often you’ve had to return to MYA for consultations post-op?

Hi Phoebe, first of all good on you for picking up the courage to contemplate on a boob job, that itself is a hard thing. Secondly, I didn’t go with MYA, but I had a check up after 2 weeks, next one is 3 months and then I think another after 6 months. I think the most important check up is the one after 2 weeks or so.
Now everyone is different with regards to recovery. I have similar stats to you, and for 4-5 days I did nothing. After that I was up and about and doing light things. I reckon you can go back to uni in around 10 days, and depending on what job you do, that would be 2 weeks I think. If you’re going to Asia in October, I would say book your surgery ASAP so that you can get in as many post op check ups before you leave. I wouldn’t have your surgery any later than July xxxx

As for implant size, just remember that a C in implant size will look a lot smaller than a C in real boobs. I am currently measuring a 32DDD or 32E, I had 365 Ultra high profile under the muscle. My boobs don’t look that big at all lol.

Im 20 & work full time, i could only get 7 days off found recovery very tough was crying every night & could barely move yet i was still okay when i went back to work (even driving there) as it improves very fast &can do more each day so even if worse case scenario you have a painful recovery too you still shouldn’t need long off! My post op appointments were: 7 days post (removing strapping) 14 days post (removing stiches) 6 weeks post and 3 months post check ups. Also sounds like you have some boob already so you could be offered overs which typically gives easier recovery:) xx

I took 16 days off work after my surgery but more because I was concerned about the commute rather than my job itself. I could probably have gone back much sooner in all honesty. I had no pain during my recovery, only stiffness, tightness and aches. My checkups are at 1 week, 2 weeks, 6 weeks and 12 weeks. They say that it will take anywhere between 6 months and 12 months to see the final result.

I took 2 weeks off work and let’s say a week off college but now I’m finishing 1st semester and there’s no classes at all that’s why I decided to go for it at this time in January. I missed only Monday at uni this week and planning to get back today for a half day only.

If I were you I would wait until Easter break in order to not lose too much but if its a matter of time, at least try to pick a quiet moment when you’ve got not much on.
The recovery is quite a fast process and after a week or two you are already able to do things you wouldn’t be able to think about after having the surgery done so you should be absolutely fine by the October.

I was told there are check ups only at 7th day, 6 and 12 weeks but not after 2 weeks.. Is this a general procedure for every patient? I’m asking cuz I need to travel 5 hours to get to the clinic and I’m not prepared to go there next week again xx

My nurse said to me at my 1 week post op appointment that it is standard to have a 2 week post op appointment, I also didn’t know that beforehand. However I have also heard from other girls who didn’t have this! Perhaps it just depends on your nurse?

I work full time and I’m also a student, for me semester two starts next Friday. I’m planning on having my ba in April as we have two or three weeks off then too and hopefully just take a week off then I will have three further days off due to rostered days off so I’m hoping it will be ok. Xx

I purposely planned mine for just before Christmas so I could get an extra long break and a good skive, haha!
